Ms. Karen Campbell, President and CEO, Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance, re: Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance (GTMA) International Marketing Activities (File M00). 2004 06 23 Page 4 of 11 Minutes Economic Development Committee Ms. Karen Campbell, President and CEO, Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance gave a presentation regarding the Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance’s international marketing activities, highlighting and responding to questions on the following: Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance (GTMA) Annual Report Background of the GTMA The alliance is comprised of 29 Greater Toronto Area (GTA) municipalities GTMA is a unique public/private partnership Key accomplishments Client base Promoting the GTA municipalities to international visitors Research projects Delivering partnership value Leveraging the City of Brampton’s contribution Participation by the City of Brampton in the GTMA Number of contacts that have established businesses in Peel Reduction in incentive programs to attract industry to Ontario EC062-2004 That the delegation of Ms. Karen Campbell, President and CEO, Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance to the Economic Development Committee Meeting of June 23, 2004, re: Greater Toronto Marketing Alliance (GTMA) International Marketing Activities (File M00) be received. Stittle, Senior Economic Development Officer, Economic Development and Public Relations, dated June 23, 2004, re: Memorial Cup Bid – Initial Planning Session Overview (File G25). Stittle, Senior Economic Development Officer, Economic Development and Public Relations, dated June 23, 2004 to the Economic Development Committee of June 23, 2004, re: Memorial Cup Bid – Initial Planning Session Overview (File G25) be received; and That a work-plan outlining this process, the potential financial and operational implications, and a review of progress to date be presented to the Economic Development Committee at a meeting no later then November, 2004. Brampton Investment Marketing I 1. Report from A. Livingston, Manager, Purchasing and Materials Management, Finance and D. Cutajar, Executive Director, Economic Development and Public Relations, dated June 23, 2004, re: RFP 2004-033 – Request for Proposal for the Selection of a Vendor for Economic Development Marketing Services (File F81). Ms. Janet Biggart, Chair of the Marketing Committee, highlighted the tending process followed for the selection of the vendor for Economic Development Marketing Services. EC065-2004 That the report from A. Livingston, Manager, Purchasing and Materials Management, Finance and D. Cutajar, Executive Director, Economic Development and Public Relations, dated June 23, 2004 to the Economic Development Committee Meeting of June 23, 2004, re: RFP 2004-033 – Request for Proposal for the Selection of a Vendor for Economic Development Marketing Services (File F81) be received; and That the Request for Proposal RFP 2004-033 be awarded to Interkom Inc., starting on January 1, 2004 and ending on December 31, 2007, providing the greatest overall benefit to the City, and being the most responsive bid received; and That the Economic Development Committee review the performance of Interkom Inc., on an annual basis; and That staff be authorized to submit a recommendation report in July 2007 addressing the performance of the vendor in relation to the requirement for considering one year contract extensions to a maximum of three; and That the existing base operating budget of $600,000 plus taxes supporting this project be included in the 2005 Current Budget submission from the Economic Development and Public Relations; and 2004 06 23 Page 6 of 11 Minutes Economic Development Committee That staff be authorized to negotiate and execute the appropriate agreement(s) with the firm Interkom Inc., in a form acceptable to the City Solicitor.
