Ballyliffin Sports Complex Sun 19th Knockalla C Templemore 9.30am Starting at the viewpoint 258374 overlooking Ballymastocker beach. Sports Complex Or Scenic ridge walk - Distance 10k. Climb 450m. Terrain good underfoot. Start The walk takes in both peaks and a circuit of the lakes midway between point peaks. Leader will meet group at start point at 10.30am 10.30am Sat 25th Dunlewey to An B Templemore 9.30am A linear walk on paths and through forest, 3 ½ - 4 hours Chuirt Sports Complex or Dunlewey May Sun 3rd Slievesnaght and C Templemore 9.30am 10km, 800m ascent, 5 – 6 hours. Start / finish at Lough Barra, climb to Bingorms Sports Complex Crockfadda and then Slieve Snaght from eastern side, descent to Lough Slieve Snaght and retirn Bingorms and waterfall. Some boggy and steep sections over rocky ground. Sat 9th Bannagher Glen A/B Waterside Station 9.30am 9 miles circuit of Altnaheglish reservoir and Bannagher forest Sun 17th Mamore – Leenan C Templemore 9.30am 10km, 750m ascent and descent, challenging walk in Urris Hills, takes in Crockfadda Loop Sports Complex lakes and crash site Sat 23rd Ards Forest Park B Templemore 9.30am Starting from Friary a combination of forest and coastal walking all on Sports Complex tracks. 13km in length. 4 hours. Or Or . Monastery Car Park 10.30am Sat 30th / Sun Weekend at Waterside Station 9.30am Stay overnight at Whitepark Bay Hostel. Alternatively join individual 31st Whitepark Bay walks. To book Hostel ring 028 20731745. Saturday walk – Whitepark Bay to Carrick-A-Rede, 12km (A grade). Sun 31st May – Trip to Rathlin Island. Meet Ballycastle Harbour for 10.00am ferry to Rathlin. Need to reserve the ferry ( 028 20769299) Return on 15.30 ferry. June Sat 6th Rossegil B Templemore 9.30am 4 hours, easy walking Sports Complex Or Carrigart Hotel 10.45am Car Park Sun 14th Malin Cliffs C Templemore 9.30am We begin at the "Wee house of Malin" a ruined church and cave/grotto GR Sports Complex 43336 58162.Continue along the stony shore to the end, at GR 43654 58106, and follow a steep grassy path ascending to the cliff edge. Continue along the outside Or of the cliff top fence, with great views of Inistrahull Island and the Garvan Isles (if you are lucky the Paps of Jura), past the big sea stack of Stookarudden, after which, the ground then rises to a high point at GR 46180 57146, below the air Malin Village 10.15am traffic control dome on Crockalough. Soon you are descending again, towards a prominent waterfall at GR 47238 56972, at which there is a small spur which makes the ideal spot for a break or lunch . Beyond, you are climbing again over Black hill GR 48268 56411,finish the walk by descending to a track which leads to the main road. Meet Leader at Malin Village And Contact Leader if intending to go Sat 20th Dunbane Trail, A/B Waterside Station 9.30am 13km, waymarked trail, 200m ascent, minor roads, farm tracks and some Glenullin. open hill. Starts near Glenullin. Sun 28th Crocknafarragh C Templmore Sports 9.30am Walk starts at St Patricks Church outside Crolly village near Gweedore and Groganmore Complex GR 83874 18575. Initial steep climb to Groganmore and then some peat hags to negotitate on way to Crocknafarragh summit. Return by quiet road to car park. Time 4 – 4 ½ hours. July Sat 4th Gola Island A/B Templemore TBC 3 -4 hours easy walking on Gola Island. Need to register interest with Sports Complex leader – boat has to be booked. Cost 10 euros per person. Or Contact leader in advance if interested Blue Gates, Glenveagh Sun 12th Aghlas from C Templemore 9.30am 12km, 800m ascent, 5-6 hours, Start and finish at Altaderry Bridge on Altaderry Bridge Sports Complex Muckish to Falcarragh Road (GR 963 281) Circular walk via Lough Moilt and Lough Alurig to Aghla Beg and Aghlamore. Some steep climbing. Sat 18th Bessy Bell B Waterside Station 9.30am A circular route all on road and paths, with great views of Tyrone, Donegal and Fermanagh, even Ben Bulbin on a clear day. Or Or Baronscourt Golf 10.15am Club Sun 26th Seagull Lough C Templemore 9.30am From gravel pit at Head of the Glen we make our way into the park as far from Gravel pit Sports Complex as the Stalking Hut opposite Estelleen Waterfall. Crossing the river ( 965155 Or Or conditions permitting) we climb to the top of the falls before making our Glendowan Walk start point 10.30am way to Lough Neweeloge (Seagull Lough).From here we visit Staghall for good views of the Muckish, Ahglas and Errigal ridge, before making our way back via Lough Beg to the start point. Distance 14k Climb 600m. Terrain is very rough and wet with high vegetation. this route includes some exposure and one river crossing. The leader will meet the group at the Gravel pit approx 10.30am. August Sat 1st Mullaghbolig B Waterside Station 9.30am A ridge walk in the Sperrins starting at Barnes Gap car park at GR 55121 (442m) and 90470. Return via road from Clogherny Top summit along the Central Clogherny Top Sperrins way/Ulster Way looking down into the Glenelly river valley. (408m) Around 10kms. Sun 9th Leaghanmore C Templemore 9.30am Starting at visitors carpark in Glenveigh we get bus to Castle. Glenveagh Sports Complex From castle we walk to fishing lodge at the end of the Lough before climbing into Glenleck valley. Leaving the valley we climb to Or Or Leahanmore 442m for lunch. From here we go to Crocknascalion before descending to eastern shore of Glenveagh Car 10.30am Lough Inshagh before meeting the track back to the castle. Park Distance 12k Climb 460m. Terrain over rough, wet ground with high vegetation. This route includes two river crossings. Leader will meet group at visitors carpark approx 10.30 Sat 15th Glenariff Forest B Waterside Station 9.30am 12km, 400m ascent, forest road and some soft fire breaks Park Sun 23rd Weekend to 2 Walks in the Mournes Area. Mournes Saturday Trassey Track from Trassey Car Park to Bloody Bridge. Moderate Linear Walk Sunday – A walk in the Spelga Dam Area.
