Once applications and fees have been received, a new membership packet will be sent in the mail. 4 WSHCEF If you would like to become a new member of the Wisconsin Horse Council, please visit our website. 5 NAWD Virtual Show Judges Seminar to feature Saddleseat and Gaited Horses in 2014 The 2014 Judges Seminar has been set for March 29, 2014. We are happy to report that it will again be in Custer, Wi at the Heartland Stables. The clinician will be at Best Western in Plover with a live demonstration at Heartland Stables. Judges, Judge candidates and auditors are welcome to attend and learn. Please fill out the enclosed registration form to sign up. The clinician this year is Nicole Carswell -Tolle who has been a professional in the Tennesse Walking Horse industry for 25 years. She currently resides in Fountain, Colorado. Nicole has held many positions within the Tennessee Walking Horse world. She provided instruction during judge education courses for NHSC and SHOW. She created the original Equitation Certification Judges Test; she has judged several of the industry’s top shows including the National Fun Show and the WHOA International Colt and Pleasure Horse Show. Nicole’s passion is teaching the art of riding instruction and how rider effectiveness applies to horse training. She is a strong advocate for youth as they are the foundation of tomorrow. She also strongly encourages adult riders to achieve their greatest potential regard- less of age. Currently, Nicole travels to Europe twice a year for horsemanship and training camps. Nicole is the author of Matter of Pride, Horsemanship for Riders of Tennes- see Walking Horses, has produced videos; Equitation and Show Ring Remember, we also have the $1Presentation, and Teaching Your Horse to Park. If you are an individual you will join at Level 1 - Individual. If 8 Lazy Creek Farm/Judge you are a family of 2 or more adults residing in the same residence, you can join at Level 1 - Family. Seminar Programs such as Certified Judges, Championship Challenge, and Trail Riding/Driving Awards require Level 1 membership - even if you are a Director or a contact person for a Level 2 or 3 organization, you still need to be a 9 2015 Winter Day in Park/ Level 1 member yourself to participate in programs. Oregon Horse Parade This membership votes at the District level - you may attend District meetings and functions and vote to elect the officers of your District, which issues you feel need to be taken to the Board, or what events the District will hold. 10 Kentucky Horse Park Youth (17 & under) are free with a parent/guardian paid membership. There is also a Lifetime Membership, which is a one-time $250 membership fee with free excess liability insur- 11 CC Sponsorships/ Cleary ance for the first year and $20 for each following year if you so choose. As part of this membership you will get the WHC newsletter. 12 Midwest Horse Fair Level II Level 2 membership is for businesses or organizations who want to be a member of WHC but do not want to WISCONSIN STATE HORSE COUNCIL 13 Midwest Horse Fair send a Director to the Board of Directors. 121 S. Ludington Street Level 2 members vote at the District level in much the same way as Level 1 members - Level 2s may appoint a Columbus, WI 53925 14 WHC Scholarships-2015 representative from their organization to attend District meetings and vote on behalf of their organization. Directors are expected to attend Board meetings either in person or by teleconference, and to participate in and 18 Upcoming Events/ vote on the issues affecting WHC. Directors are also expected to attend the Annual Meeting & Convention held in March. 19 Directors receive a large amount of communications and the preferred mode is email. Please be sure to include 20 Wis. Cowboy Dressage email addresses on the application form, if available. Directors without email will still receive the communications Classified Ads via regular US mail. 21 Product Order Form Level 3s may also appoint an alternate Director who will vote in the absence of the Director. Construction wrapped up on Friday, September 19, 2014 - right on schedule. Following the completion of the pavilions, building inspectors were onsite to give their final approval be- fore the grand opening ceremonies later this month! The Midwest Horse Fair Board of Directors and staff will be on hand for the New Holland Pavilions ribbon cutting ceremony, Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at 9:45 am. The ribbon cutting will take place outside the entrance to New Holland Pavilion One. September found our teamsters doing fall plowing in the German village. Many visitors came around asking questions on the different breeds of horses and what we were using as implements.
