He got his Aikido shodan at his 14 th . For over ten years he was Uchi Deshi (living in student) under Yoshimitsu Yamada Sensei at the New York Aikikai. Other important teachers where Ralph Reynolds, Chiba Sensei, Tamura Sensei, Sugano Sensei, Osawa Sensei, Kishumaru Ueshiba, Moriteru Ueshiba. Saito Sensei opened his eyes on the ways of weapons training and how they can influence body movement. He has dedicated his life to the practice and the teachings of Aikido. Waite Sensei finds dynamics and safety very important in his training. He had to learn taking safe Ukemi (receiving a technique and break falls) throughout his own training. He has created a structured Ukemi system and has made two videos about this subject. “Meeting the Mat” and “Principles of Giving and Receiving”, he also featured as a model in the DVDAikido3D, this is a unique interactive 3D training aid, see www.aiki.com .
