The visionary guidance from Sri Nimish Pandya garu, All India President, the motivation and inspiration from Sri S.G. Chalam garu, State President and the able support of State Coordinators have been instrumental in the steady growth of the Organization in Anantapur district. Spiritual, service and educational wings of SSSSO have started working together with complimentary activities aiming at holistic development of the organization. The service and educational wings take care of society’s needs, and the spiritual wing caters to the individual’s needs. Our focus has been on revival and expansion. Revival of non performing Bhajana Mandalis and Samithis, strengthening and expansion of organization in all the revenue mandals of the district. This process has been initiated already. Bal-Vikas centers have been revived and rejuvenated with regular Bal Vikas gurus’ training in the district. Mahila services are appreciable as there has been increasing trend of participation in all service activities and particularly in Prasanthi Nilayam seva. All the nationally designed programs like SSSVIP, SSS Narayana Seva, DJP, SRP, RVTC and Mobile Hospital have been implemented in the district.The trained sevadal are shouldering responsibility for each project. Ramanjappa District President SSSSO, Anantapur Sri Sathya Sai Baba BRIEF HISTORY Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations, India were founded by Bhagawan Baba in August 1965, with the starting of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi in Mumbai. It is a service organization with spiritual core and base to benefit all of mankind irrespective of religion, caste, creed or sect. With Divine Blessings and Grace of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, the first Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi in Anantapur district was started on 1August 1967 in Anantapur town. Bhagawan Baba nominated the following members as office bearers of the samithi;1.Sri Meda Subbaiah Setty, Chairman 2. Sri T. Chidambaraiah, Vice Chairman 3. Sri T.Pattabhi Ramulu, Secretary 4. Kum N. Lakshmi Devamma, Joint Secretary 5. Sri T.C. Aswarthanarayana, Treasurer 6. Sri Meda Ramaiah Setty, Member and others. The second samithi in the district was started in June 1968 in Dharmavaram town and the office bearers were as follows; 1. Sri K. Pedda Venkata Ramaiah, Chairman 2. Sri P. Ranganna, Secretary 3. Sri K. Radhakrishna, Member 4.Smt B.Rangamma, Member. In the year 1969,Guntakal samithi was started with the following members as office bearers; 1. Sri B. Narayanappa, Chairman 2. Sri P. Krishna Murthy, Secretary 3. Sri Kondala Rao, Member 4. Sri K.V.S. Sarma, Member 5. Sri M. Nagarangaiah Setty, Member. Hindupur samithi was started on 30 November 1972 with the office bearers as follows; 1.Sri Putta Narayanaiah, Chairman 2. Sri Jayam Rajagopal, Vice Chairman 3.Sri K.R. Venkatarathnam, Secretary 4. Sri K. Thimmappa, Treasurer 5. Sri Narayana Swamy, Member 6. Sri K.S.Aswarhanarayana, Member. Bhajana Mandalis were started in Kadiri and Kalyandurg towns in 1975. Uravakonda samithi was started on 6 May 1976, on the auspicious occasion of Mathru Sree Eswaramma day. Dr. N. Anjanaiah was nominated as Chairman of the samithi and other office bearers were as follows; 1. Sri Narasimhulu, Vice Chairman 2. Sri Subramanyam, Secretary. In earlier days, only bhajans were conducted regularly in the samithis. Bal-Vikas classes were started in the year 1972 in Guntakal, Dharmavaram, Hindupur and Anantapur samithis. Narayana seva and medical camps were organized on some important occasions. Hindupur samithi organized daily Homeo clinic from the year 1972. The main persons responsible for the growth of organization in the district were as follows; 1. Sri T. Chidambaraiah 2. Sri G.V. Satyanarayana 3.Dr. N.Anjanaiah 4. Kum N. Lakshmi Devamma 5.Sri T. C. Aswarthanarayana 6. Sri Jwalanaiah 7. Sri Meda Subbaiah Setty 8.Sri T. Satyanarayana 9. Sri Meda Ramaiah Setty 10. Sri T. Nagaraju 11. Sri V. Nagabushana Rao. Sri T. Chidambaraiah was the first Distrct President and laid strong foundation for the growth of organization in the district. Sri G. V. Satyanarayana took keen interest ever since he was nominated as District President and toured the district extensively , and initiated certain activities for strengthening of samithis/bhajana mandalis. Sri O.G.Rao and Sri A.V.Raman developed training modules and conducted number of training camps for sevadal not only in Anantapur district but also in other districts of the state during 1970s. Sri T.C.Aswarthanarayana and Sri Jwalanaiah along with others , played an important role in developing infrastructural facilities in Anantapur town for SSSO as well as SSSCT. Sri Pattabhi Ramulu donated 42 cents of land for the construction of SSS Kalyana Mandapam at Anantapur in 1971. Dr. N. Anjanaiah came on the scene of organization in the district after May 1976, took keen interest on educating the office bearers on organizational knowledge, rules and regulations and importance of all the wings of the organization. He took special interest in conducting training programs on Sevadal, Bal-Vikas, Study Circles and Bhajans. Sri V. Nagabushana Rao took sufficient interest in promoting Bal-Vikas in the district. Sri K. Satyanarayana Murthy has been active in the organization since 1988 and instrumental in starting many bhajana mandalis in different parts of the district. Sri Y. Ravichand toured the district extensively and enabled the samithis/bhajana mandalis stabilized and run smoothly. The expansion of organization started in 1990s and the growth is steady. All the nationally designed programs like SSSVIP, SSS National Narayana Seva, DJP, SRP, RVTC and Mobile Hospital have been implemented in the district. Pamdurthy and Pothulakunta villages were adopted under SSS Village Integrated Program ( SSSVIP ),which addresses the holistic needs of a villager and thus, the village. Deena Janodharana Pathakam ( DJP ) centre was started at Hindupur on 14 May 2009 with 2 children by Hindupur samithi. At present, there are 36 children in the DJP centre. Smt Katta Vasavamba and Sri Katta Srinivasaiah family constructed a building worth about Rs 75,00,000/- and gave it to Hindupur samithi on 13 March 2013 for running the DJP centre. Sri Sathya Sai Lakshmi Narayanaswamy Rural Vocational Training Centre ( SSSLN RVTC ) was inaugurated at Tadipatri by Sri R. J. Rathnakar garu, Trustee, SSSCT, Prasanthi Nilayam on 20 November 2014. Sri B.N. Yugandhar garu, IAS (Retd.) donated Rs 78,00,000/- to Sri Sathya Sai Trust, AP, to establish RVTC at Tadipatri. Out of which, an amount of Rs 75,00,000/- was deposited in Canara Bank, Hyderabad and the interest accrued on the deposit is being utilized for maintaining SSSLN RVTC, Tadipatri. Sri Sathya Sai Seva Samithi, Tadipatri acquired 769 square yards land by paying Rs 54,00,000/- for the purpose of RVTC and mandir. The RVTC is offering training in Electrical technician trade and Plumbing trade. So far, 91 youth are trained in 12 batches. The following statistics for the year 2018-19 indicate the steady growth of organization in Anantapur district. 20 Samithis and 181 bhajana mandalis with about 5000 members 86 Bal-Vikas centres have 5801 students and 134 B V gurus Sevadal – 620 men and 610 women with 360 youth 8 Medical centres serving 15,006 beneficiaries Narayana Seva to 86,272 beneficiaries Vocational training to 50 youth ( gents ) and 49 ladies to earn their livelihood DJP centre with 36 students SSS National Narayana Seva to 98 beneficiaries At present, the organization has samithis and bhajana mandalis spreading in 34 revenue mandals out of 63 revenue mandals in the district. The expansion of organization in the remaining 29 mandals of the Anantapur district has been initiated. We, all the office bearers of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation , Anantapur district pray Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba to guide and motivate us to reach our goals in the expansion of organization at the earliest.
