Asst. Manager (Production) [May 2007 to November 2007] Godrej Realgood Chicken processing plant, Bangalore • Headed the Production as well as Quality Assurance (QA) department. Production responsibilities were forecasting, planning, executing and meeting production targets. QA responsibilities were implementation and maintenance of quality systems and compliance to regulatory requirements. • Managed and led the production team of ten people as well as contract labour. • Actively involved in implementation of ISO 22000 - 2005. Organization has achieved ISO 22000 – 2005 certificate with my inputs as a FSMS team member. 3 6. Veterinary Assistant Surgeon (Assistant Commandant/Captain) [July 2001 to Sept 2005] Border Security Force, Govt. of India • Was associated with procurement and inspection of meat supplied to the troops as well as veterinary care and management of animals viz. camels and horses used for transportation of troops and their ration. • Was in charge of the Military Veterinary Hospital and thus have an ample experience in record keeping, budgeting and office as well as manpower management. Additional achievements A) ‘Secretary’, The Board of Faculty of Veterinary Science (2008) Uttar Pradesh Veterinary & Animal Sc. University, Mathura, India • Unanimously elected as the youngest Secretary of the Board of Veterinary Faculty. • Responsible for conducting the Faculty Board meetings on regular intervals to discuss the agenda points pertaining to the problems of the students and the faculty. B) ‘Chairman’ of students’ council (1998) K.N.P College Veterinary Science, Shirval (Maharashtra Animal and Fishery Sciences University) • Chaired the students’ council. • Shouldered a responsibility of conducting annual social gathering, student finances, represented at University meetings, acted as a link between students and academic staff. Research activity A) UK-India Education and Research Initiative (UKIERI) (June 2014 - June 2016): Co-researcher on the ongoing international project ‘Development of a bacteriophage-based biocontrol technology for the treatment of Cholera’, a project between the University of Nottingham, UK & National Institute of Cholera and Enteric Diseases (NICED), Kolkata, India, a WHO Collaborating Centre for diarrheal diseases research & training. This project is worth £40000/- and in order to put this project together I had to extensively liaise with the institutes and authorities in India. B) PhD Research project (2011 to mid-2015) University of Nottingham, UK Title: Bio control of Vibrio cholerae using bacteriophages. This project is aimed at assessing the potential of bacteriophage for treating Vibrio cholerae infection. The project involved isolation and characterisation of phages. Phages were obtained from 4 Public Health England (PHE), London and Felix d’Herelle Reference Centre for Bacterial Viruses, Canada. In addition, seven
