BACKYARD BIODIVERSITY RD TH Grades 3 -5 BACKGROUND : It is easy to think that wildlife exists only in certain places, such as zoos, parks, or wildlife refuges. Wildlife, however, is all around us. This activity requires you to take a few minutes to notice and recognize that wildlife is really part of our everyday lives. This awareness will hopefully help you to begin thinking about how the actions you take can affect wildlife. DIRECTIONS : Spend approximately 30 minutes looking around your backyards or a local park for wildlife or signs of wildlife. Signs of wildlife might include nests, spider webs, feathers, droppings, etc. Then classify the wildlife that you find in the chart below.
