COOKEVILLE •• Funeral services for Anthony Ray Nabors, 44, of Cookeville, will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 10, from the chapel of Whitson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 a.m. until time of services today at the funeral home. Mr. Nabors died Friday, Dec. 8, 2006, in Cookeville Regional Medical Center. He was born March 25, 1962, in Cookeville to J.R. and Juanita Alcorn Nabors of Cookeville. Mr. Nabors was self•employed in sales most of his life. He was employed by O' Charley's in Cookeville at the time of his death. He attended Trinity Assembly in Algood. He was an accomplished musician and a graduate of Belmont University in Nashville. In addition to his parents, his family includes a brother and sister•in•law, Wayne and Jan Nabors of Cookeville; a nephew, Blake Nabors of Cookeville; a special aunt, Joyce Alcorn Hall of Hendersonville; special uncles and aunts; and a very special friend, Mark Bice of Atlanta, Ga. He was preceded in death by his paternal and maternal grandparents. Pallbearers will be Blake Nabors, Chris Beasley, Michael Reeves, Danny Wells, Grady Hall and Sherrill Blackman. Pastor Mike Campbell and Bro. Carles Walker will officiate at the services. COOKEVILLE •• Funeral services for Rena Nabors, 89, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 10, from the chapel of Dyer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Cookeville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until time of services on Friday, Aug. 10, at the funeral home. Mrs. Nabors died on Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2001, at NHC Healthcare of Cookeville. She was born on Oct. 6, 1911, in White County to the late Matt and Josephine Simms McKinley. Mrs. Nabors was a factory worker with Cookeville Shirt Co. Her family includes a brother, Dave McKinley of Dayton, Ohio; and four sisters, Bill Moss and Ida Hunter, both of Cookeville, Sue Goodwin of Crossville, and Jimmie Laymance of Cincinnati, Ohio. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lionel Nabors; a brother, Donald McKinley; and two sisters, Nan Fitzgerald and Margaret Hitchock. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Cheerful Lee will officiate at the services. Haywood Nabors, 81, who died Tuesday morning at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Sam McReynolds, on Douglas Street, were to be held this morning (Thursday) at 10:00 a.m. in the Chapel of Carver Funeral Home. Rev. Bruce Strother, pastor of Cookeville Methodist Church, and Rev. John Sykes, pastor of First Baptist Church, officiated. Mr. Nabors, who was a retired farmer, was a member of the Methodist Church. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Martha Brown Nabors; nine children, Mrs. Sam (Lois) McReynolds, Mrs. Arthur (Thelma) Smith, Mrs. Peyton (Oda) Wilson and Lionel Nabors of Cookeville; Mrs. C. M. (Nola) Anderson, Mobile, Ala.; Mrs. Bownie Dabbs, Tampa, Fla.; Richard Haywood Nabors, Jr., Tampa, Fla.; W. A. Nabors, Tampa, Fla.; and A. V.
