It is a record of a season in which our Association continued to expand, while the standard of cricket played under its control produced interesting games despite the unusually wet season. The Tuif Association had in excess of 100 teams and, it is with nostalgia that I look back over the years that I have been your secretary. The first report of this style was undertaken in 1961, and a point stressed then was, 'a closer liaison between the S.A.C.A. and A.T.C.A. regarding the promotion of cricket'. The A.T.C.A. for the past two years has had a delegate (without voting power) on the S.A.C.A. cricket committee, and I feel sure this has helped both Associations to appreciate the efforts of each other in the promotion of the game. The A.T.C.A. members were very disappointed that the S.A.C.A. ground and finance committee saw fit to refuse the S.A.C.A. cricket committee's recommendation that the A.T.C.A. be given full delegate rights. Members must remember that the Adelaide Turf, as the largest Turf Association in S.A., must cooperate with the S.A.C.A., in fact all associations, for the concrete benefit of all cricket. The association continued the Inter -Association game with the Victorian Sub -District C.A., participated in the Gillette Cup Competition, and also played a one -day game against the New Zealand Waikato Touring Side. All these Inter- Association games must help to increase the interest and standard of our cricket. A full report of the games is included in this report. The Association commenced a Junior Colts Saturday Morning Competition, and this competition should be even stronger this coming season, after a few minor problems that can be remedied in the coming season. This grade should be an opportunity for juniors to play good competitive cricket, as they unfortun- ately are not playing at school. The Cricket Union of S.A. invited the A.T.C.A. to compete in the Under 13 Inter- Association competition for the Geo. Dickinson Shield, and I have pleasure in advising that the lads won this shield. Full details are included in this report. The finals are usually the important part for any team, and it is not the usual practise to itemize any particular grade or individual. But I feel sure all members of this Association congratulate Bob Marrett, of Payneham Al, for the outstanding bowling performance in their final; a hat trick in his first over, then finished with the whole ten wickets. Truly a remarkable performance. Congratulations Bob. The Adelaide Turf is indebted to all business houses who helped in spon- soring, and subsidised our official programme, and we thank the Commonwealth Banking Organization, Rowe and Jarman Sports Store, South British Insurance Co, Beaurepaire Tyre Service, S.A. Brewing Co and Fullers Directory for their assistance. General Administration As most members are aware the association will again this season have in excess of 100 teams, and while officials are pleased with this continued growth and the enthusiasm to play turf cricket, it must be fully realised that this urge to play turf cricket has caused many problems in administration. Remembering the association is run on a honorary basis and bearing in mind these added problems, the Executive Committee submitted a reconstructive administrative pattern. This system was accepted by the Management Commit- tee after a few minor alterations, resulting in a system where your Executive Committee will have the full responsibility of promoting and managing the Asso- ciation. This will necessitate the full cooperation and support of all clubs. 3 Management Committee meetings were held regularly during the season, and the following dubs were absent on: 1971 SEPT 13, A.G.M. Adelaide, Edwardstown, P.O.S., Myer, Grenfell Mail. OCT 4, Elders -GM, S.P.O.C., Tubemakers. NOV 1, Elizabeth D.st, K.O.C.A., Myer, P.O.S. DEC 6, Elders -GM, Flinders Uni., Myer, Old Ignatians, Woodville North. 1972 FEB 7, Flinders Uni., Para Hills, S.H.O.C., W.R.E.I. FEB 28 Flinders Uni., Myer, Para Hills, P.O.S. MARCH 27 Bank of Adelaide, Commonwealth Bank, East Torrens, F1:nders Uni., Glenelg, Myer, Old Ignatians, Old Scotch, P.O.S., Prospect, S.H.O.C. Marlow; the Chairman, Mr D. T. Bartlett; the Treasurer, Mr J. W. Hull; the Assistant Secretary, Mr G. T. Goulter; Acting Treasurer, Mr C. W. Britton; the Hon.
