After three straight losses, UNCW picks up its fi rst win in the series on Feb. 24, 1976, in a 104-88 triumph over Western Carolina at Trask Coliseum. Willie Jackson explodes for 30 points and Delaney Jones and Dave Wolff rule the glass with 11 rebounds apiece to give the Seahawks their fi rst victory over the Catamounts. Western Carolina rallies from a nine-point halftime defi cit behind Quinton Lytle to edge UNCW, 69-68, in the UNCC Classic on Nov. 30, 1984, at the Charlotte Coliseum. Lytle winds up with 28 points on 12-of-21 shooting to pace four in double fi gures for the Catamounts.
