Invitation to the Conference and Field Symposium Szczecin - Western Pomerania, September 1- 4, 2015. Dear Mire Friends, We are kindly informing you about a scientific conference Mires of Poland – protection, restoration, monitoring. The conference will take place in Szczecin and Western Pomerania (northern Poland) from September 1st to 4th, 2015. We expect, that during the sessions and the field symposium of the conference the current state of knowledge on Polish mires, major protection problems and restoration prospects will be summarized. In this way we would also like to commemorate the 90 birthday of prof. dr hab. Janina Jasnowska - a renown researcher of mires and peatlands and teacher of several generations of nature students, still very active in the field of study and nature protection. Please find below a tentative program of the Conference and the Field Symposium. Oral presentations up to 20 min. and poster presentations are welcome. Lesław Wołejko, mgr inż. Robert Stańko We expect to finish the event in Gdańsk in the evening of September the 4th. For interested participants we propose an optional study visit on September 5th to an experimental bog restoration site near Gdańsk. A detailed Conference and Symposium program will be presented before June 30th 2015. The costs of participation will include housing, accommodation and transportation during excursion and the field symposium. The conference fee is 40 euro – Authors of presentations and posters are excluded from the fee.
