The Parish Church of All Saints 1 July 2018 –5th Sunday after Trinity You are very welcome to All Saints this morning for this sung Eucharist (Holy Communion). Children are very welcome here and, if they want to, they can take part in the children’s activities that happen at the east end of the church and in the choir vestry. Children leave after coming to the altar for a prayer at the end of the first hymn and return for the Communion. At certain times in the service the choir sings on behalf of the congregation; this allows us to think more deeply about our relationship with God in our lives, through meditating on the words and music chosen for the day. The words that they sing can be found either in the service book or later in this sheet. Today the mass setting is Missa brevis in C K.220 (Spätzen-Messe) (Mozart) The service starts on page 1 of the green booklet. The service continues with the Preparation of the Table on page 7 of the green booklet. The Opening Hymn is 351. This morning we will use Eucharistic Prayer A. We say together the collect – the special prayer for this Sunday. While the congregation comes forward to receive Holy Communion the choir will sing the motet O salutaris hostia (Tallis) Almighty and everlasting God, by whose Spirit the whole body of the Church O salutaris hostia O saving victim is governed and sanctified: hear our prayer quae caeli pandis who opens the gate of which we offer for all your faithful people, ostium, heaven, that in their vocation and ministry they may bella premunt hostilia: hostile wars press on us: serve you in holiness and truth to the glory of da robur, fer auxilium give strength, bring aid. your name; through our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now Uni trinoque Domino To the Lord, three in one, and for ever. sit sempiterna gloria, be everlasting glory, Amen qui vitam sine termino for life without end nobis donet in patria. he gives us in (his) The reading from the Old Testament today is Kingdom.
