The wine producer will explain you the history of his winery on the panoramic terrace and will accompany you to visit his cellar. You will have a tasting of 3 wines with a snack based on traditional Venetian products (salami and cheese) and tasting of locally produced extra virgin olive oil. You will grasp the character of each wine and understand how it strictly depends on that of the vine from which it originates. Arquà Petrarca is the most interesting Euganean hilly center from the architectural and urban point of view. One of the best preserved medieval villages, it is considered the second most lovely village in Italy. The great Italian poet Francesco Petrarca lived here during the 14th century and his house and tomb were destination for literary pilgrimage for centuries. Accompanied by our guide, you can visit the medieval village and taste the “Brodo di giuggiole”, the famous local liquor. We begin the visit from the village of Valsanzibio, which takes its name from the ancient monastery dedicated to San Zibio and preceded by “valley” that means marshland. From here we go to discover the Garden of Villa Barbarigo which, with its Baroque architecture, water tricks, fountains and statues is also called “the little Versailles of Colli Euganei” or “The Pearl of the Euganean Hills”. Bikes delivery and free parking at the Resort Radisson blu at Galzignano Terme very close to the Bike ring of the Euganean hills. You will follow the bike path and part of the same road that the great Italian poet, Francesco Petrarca, followed from Padua to his house in Arquà at the end of the Forteenth century. You will reach the walled town of Monselice and then Arquà Petrarca, one of the best preserved medieval villages and considered the second most lovely village in Italy. In Arquà you can visit the memorial house of the poet and you can taste the famous Brodo di giuggiole, a delicious local liquor. Finally you reach Lispida Castle. From the Lispida hill for many centuries the trachyte, the gray volcanic stone used to pave the squares and streets in Venice, was extracted and transported along waterways to Venice.
