FROM AN INDUSTRIAL POINT OF VIEW But while old Bytow n was being transf ormed into the Capital City shrewd men were exploiting the natural wealth of the district , — and the lumbering industry was given its birth a h industry that has done much for Ottawa and has made many an individual for e tune and materially assisted the developm nt of the city as a whole .
