Love, Mom, Dad, & Ham We are so proud of our Young Cosette and how much you have grown this year! Madalyn, we love you very much! Momma, Daddy, and Rebekah Marleigh, The stage is your home! Your ability to showcase who you are as soon as you hit the stage is one of our favorite things about you. Congrats on your role as Young Eponine! We are so proud of you! Mommy, Daddy, & Baylor Heart For The Arts There is no doubt in my mind that our theatre, instead of being as the evangelical ministers used to believe the gateway to h—l, is as much of an act of worship as the theatre of the Greeks and has exactly the same meaning in our lives. The plays that please most…are representative of human loyalty, courage, love that purges the soul, grief that ennobles. -Ronald Reagan Dear FOA Family and Friends, My Uncle Dale, who I loved so dearly, used to tell me the only way to go to bed was tired. Every other way just leads to unhappiness. I understand that more and more every day. Working in theatre is so cool because you get to go to bed tired while still studying and sharing the best of all stories. This story, in particular, is the longest running and most popular in musical theatre for a reason; it’s sincerity lifts us and makes us want to be better people. While talent is a special thing, I believe that being willing and sincere is truly what you need to find success - everything else can be taught. And working with this cast and crew has sealed that in for me. This group is smart, humble, sincere, and willing to learn. They have stolen my heart while telling a story that stole my heart so many years ago. The struggle and redemption of Les Miserables may contain experiences that the young people who are telling the story are yet to fully understand, but my prayer for them is that this experience will serve them well as they build a life repertoire of love and crisis and tears and laughter. Every story that contains redemption is worth it, whether you’re working it out on the stage or living it yourself, and this one might be the king of all those that are worth it. So when they remember this experience, I hope they love it with all their heart, despite and because of all their hard work. Thank you, Uncle Dale, for teaching me about hard work. And Ronald Reagan, for your terrific observation about theatre. And cast and crew, for being willing and sincere. The stars came out both onstage and backstage for this project. God has been very good through you. With a Heart for the Arts, Kristi Our Performers Appreciate Your Best Theatre Etiquette Late arrivals must wait at the back of the house until a scene change.
