Some exciting news for our U10 players! The ECA alongside Cricket Victoria have introduced a new format. This means playing with fewer players and everyone getting a fair go at playing the game and developing their skills. In 2017-18, we are looking to build on the girls success last season and hopefully we will be entering two girls team into the Anna Lanning Shield Competition (U13s and U15s). Also, this season all home games will be played at Macleay Park. Thank you to all those parents who completed our survey, after listening to what you said, we have made the following changes, v U18s will have a designated coach v If we use a ground outside of Macleay Park for home games, teams will rotate, so everyone will get some home games at Macleay Park v We will aim to place more players in a team, meaning less movement between teams and players get to stay together and develop as a team. Registration All players intending to register with North Balwyn this season MUST do so by Friday 8th September. This year you will be able to register online click here , or attend our Registration Day on 27th August from 10am - 12pm at our club rooms at Macleay Park. To avoid your child being placed on the waiting list you MUST get their registration in by Friday 8th September. If your child is NOT intending to return to play for NBCC this season, we would be grateful if you could notify us by phone or email, so that we can remove their name from the list. Merchandise/apparel will be available for purchase (and orders can be placed for out of stock or special items) on registration day. Remember all junior players are required to wear an NBCC “Bulls” cap during games. NBCC Registration Information | 2017-18 Page 3 JUNIOR REGISTRATION LETTER (CONT.) As with previous seasons, funds raised by the Young Bulls Foundation (YBF) will be used to engage specialist coaches. This year all junior players will have the opportunity to have a free one-on-one coaching sessions. The Young Bulls Foundation (YBF) is unique to the NBCC as a mechanism for providing a wide range of extra junior cricket development opportunities such as one-on-one coaching, specialist coaching, winter coaching, summer cricket camp, and special subsidies for approved cricket tours. More information about the YBF is located in the information booklet Click Here Each season the YBF looks to expand on what is offered, and this season it is planned to offer extra subsidised one-on-one coaching sessions for those interested. We encourage you to contribute financially to the YBF if you can. Your donation can be tax deductible if you complete the Australian Sports Foundation. Aimed at 10 to 17-year-olds, Anna Lanning Shield will help bridge the gap for female participation opportunities between MILO T20 Blast and Bartercard Premier Cricket. The main goal of this all girls’ competition is first and foremost that the girls have fun, have something to look forward to each week, and then develop their skills while growing their love and understanding of the game. “Having the competition named after Anna Lanning is also great because it will help create a connection and it will show the girls what’s possible in this sport.” “Anna is a very good young player who has represented her state and is an outstanding leader” ECA Junior Chairman Richard Barker said. NBCC entered it’s first team in the Anna Lanning Shield last season and the girls had an amazing season, reaching the Grand Final. With many clubs already participating in the competition, the ECA, CV and NBCC are hoping to recruit more girls this coming season. The eight week Anna Lanning Shield begins on Wednesday 18th October (Date TBC) with away games at Hislop Park in Balwyn North and home games at Macleay Park from 5pm.
