The butter is extracted from the seed kernels and is further refined to yield a tan colored butter with a pleasant cocoa (chocolate-like) odor. Cocoa Butter is a relatively hard butter with a steep melting curve, which is ideal for body care products. May be used in a variety of cosmetic, toiletry and pharmaceutical applications to reduce cutaneous dryness and improve skin elasticity while imparting a natural color and cocoa odor, desirable in many of today’s natural formulations. Suggested Use Levels: Lotions & Creams: 3-5% | Balms: 5-100% | Bar Soaps: 3-6% | Hair Conditioners: 2-5% Cocoa Butter - Deodorized (Theobroma Cacao {Cocoa} Seed Butter) Cocoa Butter - Deodorized is obtained from the fruit of the Cacao tree (Theobroma Cacao), which grows in tropical regions throughout the world. The butter is extracted from the seed kernels and is further refined and deodorized to yield a tan colored butter with nearly no odor. Cocoa Butter is a relatively hard butter, with a steep melting curve, ideal for body care products. May be used in a variety of cosmetic, toiletry and pharmaceutical applications to reduce cutaneous dryness and improve skin elasticity while imparting a natural color and relatively little odor. The butter is extracted from the seed kernels and is highly refined and deodorized to yield a very white butter with no perceptible odor. It is a relatively hard butter with a steep melting curve ideal for body care products. May be used in a variety of high-end cosmetic, toiletry and pharmaceutical applications to reduce cutaneous dryness and improve skin elasticity while imparting no color or odor normally attributed to cocoa butter. Suggested Use Levels: Lotions & Creams: 3-5% | Balms: 5-100% | Bar Soaps: 3-6% | Hair Conditioners: 2-5% Cupuaçu Butter - Ultra Refined (Theobroma Grandiflorum Seed Butter) Cupuaçu Butter has been obtained from the fruit seed of the Cupuaçu tree (Theobroma Grandiflorum) found growing wild in the eastern sub region of the Brazilian Amazonia. The fruit of Cupuaçu is used to produce juices and sorbets in its native South America. The seeds contain approximately 48% of a sweet-smelling “butter” which is stable and highly suitable for use in cosmetics and toiletries. Cupuaçu Butter has a high capacity for water absorption and is therefore an excellent emollient for cosmetic formulations. Efficacy: Prevents drying of the skin and development of wrinkles. Reduces degeneration of skin cells and restores flexibility, moisture retention and elasticity to the skin. Suggested Use Level: Lotions & Creams 3% - 5% | Balms: 5% - 100% | Bar Soaps: 3-6% | Hair Conditioners: 2-5% Illipe Butter – Ultra Natural™ (Shorea Stenoptera Seed Butter) The Illipe Tree (Shorea Stenoptera) is a magnificent tree which grows in the forests of Borneo in the South Pacific. Illipe butter is light tan in color and has long-lasting moisturizing properties. It is most renowned for its skin softening quality. Illipe’s chemical composition closely resembles that of cocoa butter, yet with a higher melting point, making it ideal for use in bar soaps, lip balms, lipsticks and other stick type applications where a higher melting point is desired. Suggested Use Levels: Lotions & Creams: 3-5% | Balms: 5-100% | Bar Soaps: 4-8% | Hair Conditioners: 2-5% www.biochemica.com www.biochemica.com 3 Kokum Butter - Ultra Refined™ (Garcinia Indica Seed Butter) Kokum Butter has been obtained from the fruit of the Kokum (Garcinia Indica) or “Kokam” tree grown in the central east region of India. From its fruit kernels the butter is extracted and further processed and refined to obtain a very white butter, which has a fairly mild odor, suitable for cosmetics and toiletries. Kokum Butter exhibits excellent emollient properties and high oxidative stability, which can assist emulsion integrity. With its relatively higher melt point, it melts slightly at skin temperatures making it ideal for lipsticks and balms; it‘s also a great addition to bar soaps and skin lotions. Suggested Use Levels: Lotions & Creams: 1-3% | Balms: 5-100% | Bar Soaps: 2-5% | Hair Conditioners: 1-3% Mango Butter - Ultra Refined™ (Mangifera Indica (Mango) Seed Butter) Mango Butter has been obtained from the fruit seed of the Mango Tree (Mangifera Indica) grown in the sub-tropics of India and other parts of the globe. From its seed a firm “butter“ is rendered, suitable for soaps, cosmetics, toiletries and pharmaceuticals. Mango Butter exhibits excellent moisturizing for lotions and good lubricity on skin. It melts readily at skin temperatures making it ideal for sticks, balms and suppositories. It also counters the drying effects of bar soaps and cleansers. Suggested Use Levels: Lotions & Creams: 3-5% | Balms: 5-100% | Bar Soaps: 3-6% | Hair Conditioners: 2-5% Murumuru Butter - Ultra Refined™ (Astrocaryum Murumuru Seed Butter) The Murumuru Butter supplied by BioChemica has been obtained from the fruit of the Brazilian Amazon tree (Astrocaryum Murumuru). The large fruits are edible and valued for their flavor in South America. From the seeds a white butter is obtained which has a unique, characteristic odor. The butter’s natural gloss brings a desirable shine to dry, damaged hair. Murumuru Butter is solid at room temperature, but melts immediately on contact with the skin. Murumuru’s attributes have been likened to Lanolin (moisture binding properties). Suggested uses: Creams, lotions, balms, make-up foundations and bar soaps. Use from 3% to 100% pure (as a butter-like balm). Efficacy: Prevents drying of the skin due to its humectant and moisture binding properties. Palm Butter - Ultra Refined™ - Certified Organic INCI name = Elaeis Guineensis (Palm) Butter Palm Butter - Ultra Refined™ is a naturally occurring butter developed exclusively by BioChemica International for cosmetic use. Palm Butter is actually a natural stearine fraction of palm fat that is a solid butter at room temperature that has great antioxidant power.
