Recent practical experience of teaching high quality support work across EYFS and KS1 (or lower KS2) is desirable, although all applications would be considered. Relevant experience of working with children with complex emotional needs and implementing behaviour plans confidently would be an advantage but not essential. You will be keen to work with children within a Primary or Infant setting and have an insight into how focussed support can help maximise attainment and support those with individual needs. You will have good communication skills, be able to embrace change and take advice. You will be motivated and really care about children. You will have good ICT skills and a passion for helping children reach their full potential. Good communication and oracy skills are essential. You will help to make a difference to the lives of our children and their families. The post holder’s key responsibilities will be to: Support children within class; As directed, provide support in class alongside our existing Teaching Assistants implementing support programmes. Implement and maintain effective support for children with BESD and their family; Work in partnership with the Class Teacher, the Inclusion Leader, SENCo, CP Officer, Parent Support Officer and Key Leaders. As the successful candidate you will: Have good literacy skills; Have high expectations for all children and for the staff who work with them Have good empathy, interpersonal skills and an ability to act upon advice and support; Have the ability to work as part of the whole school team; Be able to effectively self-manage your time and workload in a diverse role; Be dedicated to listening to our children and helping them to grow. BACK TO CONTENTS Healthy Lunchtimes Assistant Location: Thames View Infants, Bastable Avenue, Barking, IG11 0LG Salary: £2418 (per annum) Contract: Fixed term and relief posts (Initially a fixed-term contract until 31.08.21) Hours: LLA 1 hour daily Term-time only (11:45-12:45 or 12:15-1:15) Required: ASAP We’re giving our lunchtimes a healthy boost of active play and sport! We are looking for enthusiastic people to join our lunchtime team - whether to work regularly at school or on an “as and when” basis. The successful candidates will help our children get the most from our healthy lunchtimes – whether helping children enjoy our delicious lunchtime menu or leading energetic and active sport or play in our large grounds. Working alongside the current lunchtime team, the HLA will help make our lunchtime experience as healthy as possible for our children. You will be expected to support the children across the whole school in making nutritiously balanced food choices. You will also need to be able to organise fun physical activities that are both engaging and appropriate for the age group. You will need to be punctual, creative and able to demonstrate that you are able to use your own initiative and have a good understanding of the importance of healthy eating and physical activity. Experience of engaging, working and playing with young children is essential. An up to date First Aid qualification would be desirable. This post is also subject to a clear DBS check. JUNIOR EDUCATION BACK TO CONTENTS Midday Play Assistant Location: Manor Junior School, Sandringham Road IG11 9AG Salary: Scale 1a - £11.02 - £11.21 per hour Hours: 6.25hrs per week. Term time only Required: ASAP Manor Junior School wish to appoint for a highly motivated and committed individual to join our school as a Midday Play Assistant to supervise pupils during times when normal teaching activities are not undertaken - lunchtimes. The post involves supporting, engaging and playing with children at lunchtime and supervision of the dining hall and playground. We welcome Midday Play Assistants (MDPA) who are able to work in line with our values of being Enthusiastic, Respectful, Inclusive and able to rise to a Challenge (ERIC). We wish to employ a Midday Assistant who is energetic, thorough and happy and are able to work with our children and entire school community.
