It was begun soon after o ur thirtieth anniversary , and I soon discovered that your interest was to hear from others and not to communicate your own doings . Nevertheless I have kept on with it , and as it may help us to keep closer in touch with one another , I hope you will think it worth while . It is still incomplete . There are several memorial sketches that should be prepared and several classmates are still to be heard from , but it seems best to wait no longer and to ask you to receive it as it is , with that generous consideration for your class secretary which you have so often shown . One word should be stated in regard to the finances o f - the class . Our twenty fifth anniversary was necessarily expensive . Some who subscribed substantial sums to the Class o f 1 880 Fund expressed the wish that if the total o f subscriptions should exceed the requirements fo r the pro posed gifts to the college , any balance shou ld be added to the Class Fund , which of course finally passes to the college .
