Greek Week is an annual event sponsored by the Office of Greek Life through the Interfraternity and Panhellenic Councils that will take place March 25-30, 2012. We want this year to exceed previous years, and in order for that to happen we need all of you to be as positive about Greek Week as we are! It is our #1 priority to make you feel comfortable approaching any of us if you have questions, comments, concerns or suggestions. We hope that you will enjoy the opportunity to experience friendly competition in what should be not only a philanthropic event, but a week of enjoyment for the entire Duquesne Community! This rulebook has been designed to be your guide through Greek Week. In this rulebook, you will find a schedule of events, event descriptions, and an outline of the point structure for the overall competitions. Additional information will be made available to you if any changes are made. Important information will be distributed and important decisions will be made at the Greek Week Committee Meetings, so it is crucial that you have your Greek Week committee member attend these meetings or points will be deducted. Please feel free to contact any of the Greek Week Chairpersons with any questions or concerns that you might have. Best of luck in Greek Week 2012! An intoxicated person is considered any person who has any amount of a drug, including alcohol, introduced into their body since they woke up that morning. The Office of Greek Life in conjunction with the Greek Week Committee defines a representative of your organization as one who is participating in a Greek Week Event, one who is competing in a Greek Week competition, or one who is attending a Greek Week event in any capacity (i.e. as a committee member, spectator, etc.) My organization understands why intoxicated members of the Duquesne University community can be harmful, embarrassing, and against the Mission Statement of the University. No one from my organization will show up to any event as a participant, competitor, and spectator or otherwise, while as intoxicated as defined above. My organization also understands that it will be up to the Office of Greek Life and the Greek Week Chairs, to determine the intoxication of an organization's representative. My organization understands the repercussions for violations of this policy are up to the discretion of the Office of Greek Life and the Greek Week Chairs, keeping in mind that disqualification from an event or from the Overall Competition and referral for student code of conduct violations to the Office of Judicial Affairs is possible. The Office of Greek Life and Greek Week Committee out of concern for my organization, in the best interest of the Duquesne University community's well-being, and in an effort to make the Greek Week competition enjoyable for all participants requires your compliance with this policy.
