Fiat Norm 9.01108 requires Fiat’s suppliers to submit IMDS data, as does the Fiat Norm 9.01102 (Sections 3.6 and 3.7) and the Procedure PRO30 for Iveco (download from TAS system). Suppliers are required to provide evidence that IMDS reporting has been completed for all parts and that the reported data complies with Fiat requirements. Your data must be reviewed and accepted by Fiat/Iveco before it is considered complete. This document identifies Fiat/Iveco minimum reporting requirements and provides instructions for completing the IMDS Material Data Sheets (MDS). An IMDS MDS is required for all production materials, parts, components, and vehicle sub-systems provided to or manufactured by Fiat/Iveco, its subsidiaries, suppliers, and sub-suppliers intended for use/sale globally. REJECTION CODES If your MDS is rejected, you will receive by e-mail a list of the components or materials concerned, for which one or more rejection codes have been issued. The list of rejection codes can be found in Appendix A of this document. Please make all corrections before resubmitting the MDS to Fiat/Iveco. RESPONSIBILITY The Tier-1 suppliers must submit to Fiat/Iveco chemical information about the composition of all products delivered and they are responsible for the MDS data in a manner of self-certification. Suppliers must involve sub-suppliers, if a sub-supplier does not insert MDS data, the Tier1 has the duty to do it in his stead. TECHNICAL SUPPORT For questions regarding IMDS reporting requirements refer to the contact at IMDS Public Pages contact information at: https://public.mdsystem.com/en/web/imds-public-pages/oem-contacts For question regarding the registration of your company, login, or other issue related to the system please contact your Client Manager or the IMDS Service Center at: https://public.mdsystem.com/en/web/imds-public-pages/imds-service-centers For technical question regarding the MDS data please refer to the Manual http://public.mdsystem.com/documents/10906/16811/imdsnt_usermanual_en.pdf/6040570a-5992-4678-a6fd- 5ecd2caad3e8 Training https://public.mdsystem.com/en/web/imds-public-pages/imds-training-courses Page 3 FAQ https://public.mdsystem.com/en/web/imds-public-pages/faq References http://public.mdsystem.com/documents/10906/17094/IMDS+Create+MDS+tips_Component.pdf/426cf575-8398-474e- 9c62-8f39d7db9b32 http://public.mdsystem.com/documents/10906/17094/IMDS+Create+MDS+tips_Material.pdf/11ee4395-31de-4b44-ae30- 6e3b34d2e98d Video Tutorial : FFFIAT/IVECOFIAT/IVECO IMDS REQUIREMENTS This section provides Fiat/Iveco specific IMDS reporting requirements. It is intended as a supplement to the Recommendations and Help pages available within IMDS and the requirements set for the Fiat Norm 9.01108 and Iveco Std.18-0013. The IMDS Recommendations should be used as the primary guideline for creating an acceptable IMDS for submit to Fiat/Iveco . CCCOMPANY IDIDID Send the MDS to the correct ID Company as reported below: Company ID Fiat Auto 1316 Fiat Automoveis Brazil 109959 Fiat Auto Argentina 109958 Maserati NM 112624 Maserati Spa 92550 Iveco Light 4772 Iveco Medium-Heavy-BUS 117524 FPT Industrial 111915 Astra 124292 Page 4 RRRULES FOR SSSEND AND UUUPDATE MDS SSS IMDS data should first be submitted prior to the VP as part of the CQC documentation (Fiat Norm 9.01103). Once IMDS acceptance is obtained, the Material Processing Solution System (MaPS for Fiat) will automatically display the acceptance status. Fiat/Iveco suppliers are required to utilize IMDS to report part, material, and substance information for: 111.1 Parts or materials used in current production: all parts currently in production should already be reported in IMDS. 222.2 New product submissions: Fiat/Iveco suppliers are required to submit IMDS data for all new parts in order to meet their requirements (Fiat Norm 9.01108, 9.01102 and Iveco STD 18-0013). The only parts exempt from the above are user manuals (e.g. handbooks for radios, navigation systems, etc.), protective packaging materials that are removed when the vehicle is delivered. For the undefined materials must insert the substances that remain on the car and not the full composition: Paints, polymers, adhesives, and sealants etc. must be reported in the cured state. Fiat/Iveco suppliers are required to update the MDSs, according to IMDS Change Management they must resubmit IMDS data for any engineering change that involves: 1.1.1. Part number. 2.2.2. Material content. 3.3.3. Substance composition. 444.4 Mass of a part exceeding the 5% tolerance 555.5 GADSL: • If there is a New GADSL listed substance added to a material • all MDSs that have a joker/wildcard/confidential substances in their tree structure must be reviewed to determine whether the substance that the joker/wildcard/confidential replaces is now declarable or prohibited Note: for update the MDS you have to use the function new version (blue line) except for a new part number when you have to create a new MDS with a different ID number (red line). Page 5 PPPART NNNUMBER AND SSSUPPLIER CCCODE GGGUIDELINE PPPART NNNUMBER • RRREJECTION CCCODE 11S Fiat/Iveco Part-number not recognized DESCRIPTION For Fiat/Iveco the part number must consist of numeric digits without any miscellaneous characters or embedded spaces. If the Fiat/Iveco part number is not entered correctly, it cannot be assigned to a part number in the production bill of materials by the Fiat checking system Please enter the Fiat/Iveco part number exactly as it appears in the drawing, and should be in English or Italian. Please, if you know, add in the part descriptions also the Fiat/Iveco Model Code: e.g. Dashboard 520 In the case of multiple models please write: e.g. Screw 520, 199, 843 Or write “multiple models ” • RRREJECTION CCCODE 18S Fiat/Iveco Multiple Part Number (Rejection Code 18S) DESCRIPTION This is a specific function developed for Fiat and Iveco in the recipient data: You must use this function for a list of similar part numbers. Are Are similar all the part numbers with left/right symmetry or color variation (e.g.: black/grey panel, different color of seats covers). The weight tolerance admitted is 5%. Are NOT similar the component/materials for which the color variation has an high impact on the MDS composition: e.g. paint. If the color variation between the several paints is minimal, the parent drawing should be the one with the more critical paint composition. The part number rules are the same of the reference part number (see Rejection code 11S). Page 6 • RRREJECTION CCCODE 10S Fiat/Iveco New Part Number (Rejection code 10S) DESCRIPTION If you have a new part number you have to create a new ID number and not make a copy of an other existing one Each ID number must be reference only to one part number. If the new part number is similar to another one for which there is an existing MDS you can add this using the function Multiple Part Number (see Rejection code 18S). SSSUPPLIER CCCODE • RRREJECTION CCCODE 17S Fiat/Iveco Supplier Codes (Rejection Code 17S) DESCRIPTION The supplier code must be reported exactly as it appears on your Fiat/Iveco Purchase Order (no DUNS). For Fiat: refers to the Fiat Norm 07610, this code is different from country to country: Supplier code format Country xxxxx Italy Axxxxx Argentine Bxxxxx Brazil 08000xxxxx Brazil Txxxxx Turkey Pxxxxx Poland Cxxxxx China Sxxxxx Serbia Nxxxxx India Note: The mandatory fields for Fiat/Iveco in the Recipient Data are the Supplier Code and the Part/Item No. Page 7 GGGENERAL SSSTRUCTURE GGGUIDELINE WWWEIGHT • RRREJECTION CCCODE 15S/16S Weight Variation Tolerance between "Measured Weight" / "Calculated Weight DESCRIPTION In order to be compliant with the Dir.3R and obtain the type approval validation we have to demonstrate the rightness of the weight. During the official inspection by the Minister of Transport they require us to compare the real weight with the weight declared in IMDS and they ask us to be more restrict about our control on weight in order to improve the data quality. So we decide to insert this mandatory rule, the difference between the "Measured weight per item" and the "Calculated weight per item" must be within the following range of deviation and tolerances: Range tolerance between calculated weight and measured weight of the component Weight Min Weight max % allowed 0 99 20,0 99,001 999 5,0 999,001 9999 2,0 9999,001 99999 1,0 99999,001 999999 0,5 We need to apply this range through all the MDS (components and subcomponents) to avoid the error propagation.
