FINLAND 100 YEARS • SEPTEMBER 7 ! 10, 2017 • REFORMATION 500 YEARS En ny musikfestival ser dagens ljus och låter sig höra: OrganSpace Stockholm! A new music festival is here to be enjoyed: OrganSpace Stockholm! Organs are one of the oldest instruments in the world with an unusual history and multitude of styles, through both di erent eras and di erent cultures. There is hardly another instrument that blends together and communicates so fascinating- ly with the spaces it is played in: in churches or public venues such as Stockholm’s City Hall, cinemas or surprising places such as the reactor chamber at the Royal Technical College. 2017 marks the 500th Anniversary of the Reformation and the 100th Anniver- sary of Finland’s Independence - inspiration for the eleven concerts and many of the various workshops which will be part of the rst ever Organ Space Stockholm. We hope you enjoy many magical concert moments together with us! 2 ORGANSPACE |2017 Våra konserter kan klinga vidare ... Our concerts keep sounding out… Music can change lives. For the last twenty years, tens of thousands of boys and girls in the Democratic Republic of Congo have been exploited as child soldiers. An education centre run by the Baptist Church in Bukavu, Congo o ers youngsters the chance to start over again. The majority of these over 800 youngsters never had ac- cess to schooling and were instead the victims of and witnesses to torture, rape and murder. Making musical instruments a ords these young people new perspectives and opportunities. Guitars from the workshop in Bukavu are already famous and are used by many professional musicians in Africa and Europe. We o er free entry to all concerts in the festival Organ Space Stockholm. But we do ask you to make a generous donation to the project Guitars, Not Guns run by the Püschner Christoph Foto: organisation ”Brot für die Welt”. The project is audited – 94.2 % of your contribution goes directly to the project, 2.4 % goes to advertising and information and 3.4 % to administration.
