He came to Australia with two brothers to work on the goldfields. He was naturalised as an Australian in 1886. The family lived in Irrewillipe Road, Elliminyt and he gave his occupation in 1878 as gardener. It is said that when he died in 1908 many businesses closed for a half day for the funeral. [Information provided by descendant] Spouse: Liu Ah Yee (LIU - his real surname, Ah Yee - his given name). In 1886 when he became naturalised he declared his name as Ah Yee.
