
THEMYSCIRA: LEGEND OF THE AMAZONS .1 EXT. GREEK PALACE - DAY A beautiful Greek City fills the screen. A Majestic Palace in the background surrounded by immaculate stone and marble buildings. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) There was once a beautiful City named THEMYSCIRA, by the edge of a river called THERMODON. Several tall and beautiful women, wearing peplos of various colors. Several are simply chatting amongst themselves by a beautiful flowered fountain. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) Inhabited by a civilization of warrior women known as AMAZONS. Powerful and mighty were they. Several fully dressed guards, are gathered around a training session. Two Amazon women are in the middle of a marked circle in the dirt. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) Skilled were they in the art of battle and combat. Skilled and feared. The practice fight between the two Amazons is fierce, deadly, but controlled. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) So feared were they by man. HERODOTUS called them Androktones , "killers of Men." One of the combatants uses a powerful maneuver and overcomes her adversary. She falls as the other is about to deliver a death blow, then stops. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) They were led by two noble Queens... The victor removes her helmet to reveal. A tall beauty of flaming red hair. She smiles as she extends her hand to help her fallen comrade. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) QUEEN ANTIOPE, a fierce warrior and General of the armies... THEMYSCIRA: LEGEND OF THE AMAZONS .2 INT. GREEK PALACE - CONTINUING Inside the palace a man servant leaves a tray of fruits on a marbled pedestal. EXT. GREEK PALACE/BALCONY - CONTINUING Standing in the balcony facing the courtyard, a tall beautiful woman, with flowing, curly, long dark hair. Dressed in a long beautiful soft white silk dress, watches out to the citizens below. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) And QUEEN HIPPOLYTA, ruler of Themyscira. A kind and gentle woman who pursued diplomacy before war. We notice she is wearing a GIRDLE made of GOLD. Queen Hippolyta turns when the doors behind her open to reveal... INT. GREEK PALACE - CONTINUING A strong, muscled, bearded, wearing a flowing cape of red and a RED PLUMED TROJAN HELMET. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) One day she received a visit from her lover and inamorato. ARES THE GOD OF WAR... Ares removes his helmet upon entering the chamber, and drops to one knee in sign of respect. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) Men were not permitted to set foot upon their lands. Only as slaves and servants or unless called upon to render service. Hippolyta rushes to his side with a smile. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) But that night.... INT. HIPPOLYTA'S BED CHAMBER - NIGHT The room is lit by candles, as they lay in bed making love. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) Ares seduction had another agenda in mind. THEMYSCIRA: LEGEND OF THE AMAZONS .3 While kissing Queen Hippolyta, his hand reaches out and drops a liquid into her drink. A goblet made of pure gold, as he picks it up and gently passes it to her. We see the goblet slip onto the marbled floor, as her hand goes limp. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) His purpose was to take back the Golden Girdle of Gaea he himself had given to Queen Hippolyta. Ares is standing by her dresser as he takes the Golden Girdle in his hands. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) For it had the power to enhance their strength and heighten their abilities. But, it would also lead its wearer into insanity if worn for an extended period of time. EXT. GREEK PALACE - MORNING Outside the main steps of the Palace, Ares soldiers surround the Amazons. Queen Antiope stands in front of the Amazons sword ready. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) With the assistance of Herakles. Ares threatened to spill the blood of Queen Hippolyta if they did not surrender to them unconditionally. HERAKLES has Queen Hippolyta in chains, his sword across her neck. Ares is standing on the other side of her. Queen Hippolyta looks extremely saddened by the betrayal. Queen Antiope drops her sword. INT. DUNGEON - AFTERNOON We see several of the Amazons locked away. A metal worker puts the final touches on iron shackles on the wrist of Queen Hippolyta. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) They were shackled and imprisoned. Queen Hippolyta is standing in her cell, she looks across towards Queen Antiope in another cell. THEMYSCIRA: LEGEND OF THE AMAZONS .4 FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) Some of the Amazons were taken away to be used by Ares soldiers. Queen Hippolyta tries hopelessly to reach out to one of the Amazons being taken forcibly away by two soldiers. Queen Hippolyta alone, in tears behind her cell bars. Her outreached hand uselessly extended in front of her. INT. DUNGEON/CELL - NIGHT Queen Hippolyta is praying in one corner. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) One night after many days of prayer. Queen Hippolyta is visited upon by the GODDESS APHRODITE. Whom saw the love and sadness Queen Hippolyta had for her Sisters. A Beautiful Blonde haired woman appears in front of Queen Hippolyta in the form of a glowing spirit. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) The Goddess offered them their freedom on the condition that they leave the land of men and under no circumstance should the blood of man be shed. Queen Hippolyta listens intently, and then nods as she bows her head down. She brings the iron shackles up towards The Goddess Aphrodite. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) Queen Hippolyta agreed. The chains on the bracelets dissolve, leaving the bracelets still on. The cell doors all mysteriously open. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) But Queen Antiope's heart was so filled with rage. Hippolyta turns to see Queen Antiope in the open doorway. Queen Antipoe rubs her bracelets as she looks down to her arms, then looks up towards Queen Hippolyta. THEMYSCIRA: LEGEND OF THE AMAZONS .5 FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) She disobeyed the condition set upon them by The Goddess Aphrodite. EXT. GREEK PALACE - CONTINUING Antiope has her armor and sword, as she strikes down one of Ares soldiers. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) And took it upon her to kill her captors, as she led a handful of her Sisters and slaughtered every single man that had been left to guard the city. We see men one by one being cut down by the Amazon women. An Amazon warrior with blood splatter walks up to Queen Hippolyta and drops to one knee and extends to her the Golden Girdle taken from the palace. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) Her Golden Girdle, found by a blood spattered warrior, was returned. Both Ares and Herakles had left the city and were not aware of the events that had unfolded. Hippolyta takes the Golden Girdle, a sad look crosses her features. The Goddess Aphrodite appears to the Amazons, as they all quickly drop to their knees. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) The Goddess Aphrodite forgave the Amazons for disobeying her. But as punishment for their cruel savagery, the bracelets shall remain on them for all eternity, as a reminder of their captivity. All of the bracelets turn into a solid color of gold. Antiope gives Hippolyta a look pleading with her eyes. THEMYSCIRA: LEGEND OF THE AMAZONS .6 FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) Antiope pleaded with Hippolyta, to beg Aphrodite to remove the bracelets. Queen Hippolyta simply looks at her and sadly turns away. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) But The Queen refused and accepted their punishment from The Goddess Aphrodite. We see the sun about to come up, as the Amazons are in an ancient Greek Warship. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) They commanded a vessel. In the bow of the vessel stands Queen Hippolyta, along side her is EPIONE the healer. In the aft of the vessel, Queen Antiope watches the city disappear in the distance. FEMALE NARRATOR (V.O.) (continuing) Leaving the land of men, never to be heard of, or seen from again. As it sails away towards the horizon. EXT. SKY - PRESENT DAY A C-23 Military cargo plane travels south towards Guantanamo Bay. The sky looks dark and foreboding. INT. C-23 PLANE - CONTINUING In the cargo area there are about twelve men secured to the floor plates in handcuffs and chains, all of them have hoods over their heads. Watching over them are eight soldiers. Five of them are relaxing, as the other three are armed and are keeping watch. There are several crates within the aircraft braced in the back, to the right of the cockpit. INT. C-23 PLANE/COCKPIT - CONTINUING Commandeering the aircraft is COLONEL STEVE ROCKWELL TREVOR, his headphones rest on his shoulders. To his right, CAPTAIN LYLE HOWARD. THEMYSCIRA: LEGEND OF THE AMAZONS .7 Captain Howard glances upwards towards the sky. CAPTAIN HOWARD I hate flying in this weather. We're expecting another storm front moving in from the East. STEVE (glancing over to Captain Howard) Can't wait to get these boys to Guantanamo Bay, refuel and ask permission to go to the old Ramey Air Force Base if weather permits it. CAPTAIN HOWARD I can't believe we no longer have any military bases in P.R. That was such a sweet R and R. STEVE I hear you LYLE. At least the Coast Guard there is nice enough to accommodate us. CAPTAIN HOWARD Yep, they have room for the C- 130's that fly in from Florida. They'll have plenty of room for us little guys. STEVE Us?
