City-initiated Official Plan Amendment for the Rail Corridor Public Meeting #2 Date: September 25, 2017 Time: 6:00pm – 8:30pm (Open House at 6:00pm – Presentation at 6:30pm) Place: City Hall, City Council Chambers & Members Lounge, 100 Queen Street West This is the second public meeting regarding the City-initiated Official Plan Amendment for the rail corridor between Bathurst Street and Blue Jays Way. The purpose of this meeting is to offer the public the opportunity to learn more about the project and provide feedback to City staff on the emerging vision and draft Official Plan Amendment. A question and answer period will follow the presentation. Proposal This City-initiated amendment to the Toronto Official Plan proposes a new planning framework to support a large park over the rail corridor between Bathurst Street and Blue Jays Way ("Rail Deck Park"). The proposed planning framework envisions a vibrant, sustainable, and accessible park for all Torontonians, and will address land use, public realm improvements, connectivity, and servicing, among other matters. The City-initiated amendments will include updates to the Railway Lands West, Central, and East Secondary Plans. Public consultation is an important part of the planning process for the rail corridor and Rail Deck Park. We look forward to hearing your input on this important city building initiative.
