The goal was Menard’s 58th career goal, breaking her into the SCAC’s top five for all-time leading goal scorers. To date, Menard has accumulated DEFENSIVE 58 goals (15 of which are game-winners), and 12 assists for a total of 128 career points. Junior PLAYERS OF THE WEEK forward Kate Burnett of Hendrix scored the Warriors’ game-winner on Sunday against the University of Dallas. Burnett’s second goal of the season put the Warriors on top, 1-0, during the Week 1 Amelia Wildeborg, Hendrix 55th minute of play. Junior midfielder Leslie Robichaux of Millsaps netted her team-leading eighth goal and third game-winner of the year in a 1-0 shutout of Oglethorpe on Friday. Senior midfielder Week 2 Brooke Shipley, DePauw Kara Purdy of Rhodes led the Lynx to two wins this weekend, scoring a goal in the Lynx’ 2-0 win Week 3 Nicole Wendschlag, Centre over University of Dallas and the game-winning goal in a 3-0 shutout of Austin College. Purdy’s Becca Clarin, Rhodes game-winner against Austin also clinched at least a share of the 2008 SCAC Championship for Week 4 Katy Joyner, Rhodes the Lynx and the league’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championships. Purdy’s game-winner Week 5 Elizabeth Sooby, Millsaps against Austin gives the Lynx their first SCAC title since the 1991 season and the program’s first- Week 6 Danika Wright, Trinity ever NCAA Tournament berth. Junior midfielder Brianna Young of Trinity scored the Tigers’ only Berkeley Mengwasser, Southwestern goal in a 2-1 loss at Southwestern on Saturday afternoon, putting the Tigers in a three-way tie for second place in the SCAC standings. Young’s goal was the 23rd of her career and puts her in the Week 7 Becca Clarin, Rhodes team lead with seven goals this season. Young also leads Trinity with 18 total points, tying for Week 8 Kaitlin Elledge, Austin College second with four assists this season. Wednesday, October 29 Rose-Hulman 3, DePauw 2 Wright helped lead the Lynx to their 10th and 11th shutout victories of the season Friday, October 31 with wins over University of Dallas (2-0) and Austin College (3-0). Against Dallas on AUSTIN 3, HENDRIX 0 Friday, the Lynx did not allow a single legitimate shot and against Austin, not only BIRMINGHAM SOUTHERN 3, SEWANEE 1 did Wright help keep the Roos off the scoreboard, she ripped a left footed shot MILLSAPS 1, OGLETHORPE 0 past the Austin keeper from 30 yards out to notch the Lynx’ third goal of the game. #17 Rhodes 2, Univ. of Dallas 0 Wright and the Lynx defense have allowed only three goals in conference play and have shut out seven of their eight SCAC opponents this season. Saturday, November 1 SOUTHWESTERN 2, TRINITY 1 Wheaton (Ill.) College 7, DePauw 2 Other outstanding performances in the SCAC: Senior defender Kate Anderson of Centre had another solid performance in Sunday’s game against Maryville (Tenn.) College. Anderson’s leadership on defense helped Centre hold Maryville to only one shot Sunday, November 2 during the match. With her performance, the Colonels moved on to a 10-5-1 overall record and earned their BIRMNGHAM-SOUTHERN 4, OGLETHORPE 1 fifth shut-out of the year. Sophomore defender Madi Stachura of Southwestern played 90 minutes in the SEWANEE 3, MILLSAPS 0 backfield this weekend, helping lead the Pirate defense to a 2-1 win by allowing Trinity only three shots on #17 RHODES 3, AUSTIN 0 goal for the first half of play and holding the Tigers to none in the second. Stachura played the entire game Centre 1, Maryville (Tenn.) College 0 at center defender. With Stachura on the field, the Southwestern defensive denied all eight corner kicks Hendrix 1, Univ. of Dallas 0 taken by Trinity in the Pirates' come from behind 2-1 victory.
