Arts Page 2 of 32 September 2011 Elephant Trust Deadline: 14th January,2013 The Elephant Trust offers grants to artists and for new, innovative visual arts projects based in the UK. The Trust's aim is to enable artists and those presenting their work, to undertake and complete projects when confronted by lack of funds. The Trust supports projects that develop and improve the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of the fine arts. Priority is now being given to artists and small organisations and galleries who should submit well argued, imaginative proposals for making or producing new work or exhibitions. Arts Festivals are not supported. The Trust normally awards grants of up to £2,000 but larger grants may be considered. Contact details: http://www.elephanttrust.org.uk/docs/intro.html Henry Moore Foundation Deadlines: 28 November 2012 (for 23 January 2013) The Foundation supports UK organisations, institutions, museums and galleries focussing on aspects of the arts in which Henry Moore himself was engaged e.g. sculpture, drawing and print-making. The Foundation awards grants in six categories: 1. New Projects 2. Collections 3. Research and Development 4. Fellowships for artists. 5. Conference, lectures and publications. 6. Post doctoral research fellowships. Contact details: http://www.henry-moore.org/grants/applying-for-a- grant/make-an-application Ideas Tap Deadlines: Specific for each type of Fund Page 3 of 32 September 2011 Ideas Tap is a creative network and funding body for emerging arts talent. They are a not-for-profit organisation, bringing creative people together and offering cash funding, opportunities and a portfolio to showcase work. The Funds are broken down into parts:- Ideas Fund Innovators Open all year with four deadlines for submission, offering £1,000 for projects from any creative discipline, e.g. performances, photography, films. Ideas Fund Green Open in the spring for 6 weeks, celebrating creative environmental projects including through art. Awards of £5,000 are offered. Ideas Fund Edinburgh Open for 6 weeks, from October, provides £10,000 each to two winning companies, to take a show to the world’s largest arts festival. Ideas Fund Shorts Open for 6 weeks from February, offering young filmmakers £5,000 to create a 5 minute short film e.g. documentary, trailer for features, music video, fashion, etc. Top Up Fund Open in the spring for 6 weeks, celebrating creative environmental projects. Contact details: e-mail: [email protected] www.ideastap.com IdeasTap Ltd, Woolyard, 54 bendmondsey St., London SE1 3UD Music Funding for Individuals Organisations & Groups Deadline: 4th February 2013 The Performing Rights Society (PRS) for Music Foundation, the UK's leading funder of new music across all genres, has announced that its funding programme for individuals, organisations and groups is open for applications. Funding is available to any individual or not-for-profit organisation whose project or programme fits with all three of the PRS’s funding priorities, these are to: support the creation and performance of outstanding new music in any genre; develop artists to their full potential; Page 4 of 32 September 2011 inspire audiences UK-wide. Through this programme individuals as well as bands; ensembles; collectives; charities; local authority and schools; etc. can apply for grants of up to £25,000 (£5,000 for first time applicants). Previous projects funded include: Audioactive 2: a registered charity working to challenge disadvantage and enhance the development of children and young people by providing high quality creative and musical experiences throughout the South East. Africa Express: This involved 100 of the top artists from Africa and the West touring Britain by train with short shows on station platforms, market towns, town halls, schools and car parks. Contact details: http://www.prsformusicfoundation.com/Funding Strategic Touring Programme – Arts Council Deadline: 31 January 2013 The £45 million programme is designed to encourage collaboration between organisations so that more people across England experience and are inspired by the arts. Projects over £10,000 are eligible for funding provided they take place over a maximum of 3 years and at least 10% of total costs comes from other sources. Page 5 of 32 September 2011 Applicants must own/manage the theatre and run a regular programme of professional community and/or amateur work presenting no less than 30 performance per year. Preference is given to supporting innovative projects from individuals aged 30 and under, and from small groups of young people in the UK. Recipients will need to report on how support was used and helped their project. Application Form: available on website with guidance, can be submitted at any time and will be considered twice a year. The Fund does not support one-off residential trips, foreign trips or capital expenditure. Application: can be made at any time, preferably by e-mail, but written applications are accepted, answering the following questions: who is applying? what project is proposed? Eligible for funding examples: shorts, shirts, footwear, equipment, travel in the UK. Applicants will need to prove their circumstances prevent them from raising the necessary finance through any other means. Application Form: available on website.
