Yahashira Cemetery was established on July 1, 1935 with support from Chiba Prefecture and Matsudo City to resolve the Cemetery problem of fewer cemeteries due to the increasing population in Tokyo. It is a rectangular piece of land that stretches 1,400 meters east to west and 750 meters north to south. Graveyard occupies half of the area, and the other half is passages, green space, squares and so forth. A western style cemetery, the lawn cemetery was built from 1965 to 1969 and in 1991 a wall cemetery was established. The multi-funeral cemetery was constructed in 2013 and used to- gether with the existing cemeteries.
