34th Annual Summer Survival Guide 2020 COVID online edition Welcome to the 34th Annual Summer Survival Guide From Your Pullman Radio Stations For 34 years, Pullman Radio has produced the Summer Survival Guide. Over the years it has become a valuable summertime companion for longtime residents as well as newcomers and visitors to our area. This year, along with everything else, it is being done differently. We have included as much information as we can, but also know that right now everything is very fluid. We hope that many acitvities in our Guide are able to still take place, and that many other activities will be able to happen. We ask you to visit the websites and social media of the businesses and events throughout our book for more up to date information. We hope that you find thisGuide valuable in finding things to do, places to go, recipes for food and fun, along with the area’s most comprehensive calendar of regional events. We would like to extend a special thanks to Margo Balzarini for compiling much of the information in the Guide. She spent countless hours researching and redoing the calendar with all the changes due to COVID-19. Thank you also to our editor Danielle Kallaher. To everyone who contributed recipes, calendar events, articles, and things to do ... we truly could not do this without you! We are able to provide this guide to you for free because of our gracious advertisers. Could you please do us a favor, and stop by or give them a call to let them know that you appreciate having this free Summer Survival Guide each year. They value your feedback, and so do we. If you have any ideas or events you would like to have included in next year’s Guide, please let us know: Pullman Radio, PO Box 1, Pullman, WA 99163 or email [email protected]. They quickly became a staple for the Kallaher family. These cookies are delicious, and can be done with a variety of chips to make them just how you like them. 1 cup butter, softened 1 cup cake flour 3/4 brown sugar 1 3/4 cup flour 1/2 cup sugar 1 tsp baking powder 2 eggs 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp vanilla 1/2 tsp salt 3-4 cups chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, or peanut butter chips - or mix them however you like. Mix the butter, brown sugar and sugar, add eggs and vanilla and mix. Add cake flour, cake flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and mix. Stir in chips. Scoop cookies onto cookie sheet and bake for 7 minutes at 400-degrees. If you wish to make larger bakery style cookies, you will need to cook longer. 4 Area Chambers of Commerce When you want to know what is happening in a community, local Chambers of Commerce and Visitors Bureaus are excellent resources for picking up detailed information on many travel opportunities.
