Legoland Florida is a 145-acre, full two- day interactive family theme park specifically designed for families with children ages 2 to 12. It features more than 50 rides, shows, and attractions, restaurants, shopping, a breathtaking botanical garden and a water park. The park has had very strong attendance and, although the park does not release attendance figures, attendance at the six Legoland parks worldwide rose by 33 percent, from 7.9 million to 10.5 million, in 2012. Estimates put the annual attendance figures for the Winter Haven location at over 1.5 million annually. The park has expanded twice already, first opening a water park and later a new “signature land” called the World of Chima. The Central Florida Visitor’s Center reports that 25% of their ticket sales are for the Legoland theme park. Legoland has recently completed its third expansion to the park and opened its Lego-Themed hotel in 2015. By May of that same year, they had already sold 40% of the inventory available through the end of year at a rate nearly triple the County’s average ADR. There is a strong demand for modern hotels, as over 70 percent of the hotel rooms in the area are substandard. The corridor TODAY could support at least 240 net new limited service hotel rooms given the existing demand (editorial note: this number is disputed by people in the industry as too low given the other drivers such as the increase demand in sporting events and business industry growth, but remember that's TODAY. See next line) 2. There is a significant demand that could be captured such that the need for hotel rooms could exceed 1,200 net new rooms by 2025. ” - Cypress Gardens Corridor Study Debrief – 10/20/2015 http://www.orlandosentinel.com/travel/attractions/legoland/os-legoland-hotel-opens-20150513-story.html “The hotel's opening completes a significant shift from a day attraction to a multiday destination, Jones said. Initial hotel bookings indicate there was demand for that change. Already, the park has sold nearly 40 percent of the available inventory from now until the end of the year.” - Caitlin Dineen – 5/13/2015 Legoland Area Commercial Development Site Directly Across From Legoland Main Entrance Winter Haven, FL Michael Lewin Sales Associate PH: 561-236-5391 E: [email protected] Note: All information contained herein was obtained from sources we consider to be reliable.
