SPORTS STORY 1 To the Tri-Series tournament in Ireland... The West Indies will take on Bangladesh in Friday's final, with the Tigers possibly missing all- rounder Shakib Al Hasan, who suffered a side strain during the round robin stages. There are several reasons why the West Indies have been unable to get past Bangladesh in the league phase. The Bangladeshi bowlers have cut down their scoring as soon as the ball has gotten softer, compounded by the West Indies' lack of discipline with the ball in the aftermath of a breakthrough. The Windies haven't bowled to full potential in the Powerplays. Added to that, there have been some concerns regarding the Windies' fielding. Shai Hope has slipped to an anchor's role, but the form of Darren Bravo and the rest of the middle order is a big concern. West Indies are likely to bring back Shannon Gabriel in place of All-rounder Raymon Reifer. Opener John Campbell is still out injured since his 179 against Ireland in the series opener. SPORTS STORY 2 Trinidad and Tobago's beach footballers will be looking to make it three wins out of three tomorrows when they play title holders Panama in their final group match. The local boys are already through to the quarterfinals after beating US Virgin Islands 7-2 yesterday. The quarter-finals will take place on Friday, followed by the semi-finals on Saturday and the final, and third-place match, on Sunday. The finalists will be the Concacaf representatives at the 2019 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup in Paraguay SPORTS STORY 3 The international friendly between Venezuela and Trinidad and Tobago scheduled for May 29th in Sabana Grande, Venezuela has been cancelled. The Trinidad and Tobago Football Association made the announcement today. A release stated the decision has come about due to the ongoing political crisis and protest actions taking place in Venezuela. No replacement game has been announced for that match. However, T&T will be taking on Japan in Aichi on June 5th in its build up to the 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup. The Dennis Lawrence coached team will be facing Panama in its opening match on June 18th. .
