It recently undertook an eleven day non-stop flight from an undisclosed location. It was reported that some of No.2 Squadron have departed from RAF Marham during the last week of August to the French Air Base at N’Djamena in Chad so that they can be used in the intelligence, surveillance, targeting, acquisition and reconnaissance (ISTAR) role in support for the hunt for the Nigerian School girls that have been kidnapped by the Islamist group Bokum Haram. Another deployment by No.2 Sqn Marham is Operation Shader. No.2 Sqn crews deployed on 12.08 with six Tornado GR.4s to Akrotiri, Cyprus to carry out reconnaissance missions over Iraq.
