During this period she studied the art of stained glass, winning an award at an exhibition of religious art in Chicago. Later, in Hawaii, Miss Jameikis received an M.A. in Far Eastern Art from the University of Hawaii. She joined the staff of the Honolulu Academy of Arts in 1971, where she served as keeper of the audiovisual center until her retirement in 1981. Texas-born sculptor Mamoru Sato was trained in art at the University of Colorado where he received a B.A. in fine arts and an M.F.A. in sculpture. Invited Artist of Hawaii 1986 Brone Jameikis, He has been professor of art at the stained glass University of Hawaii since 1965. His works have been widely exhibited including recent solo exhibitions at the ArtLoft, Dqwntown Gallery and Central Pacific Bank in Honolulu, in Oklahoma City, Muncie and San Diego, and an invitational exh ibition in Kagoshima, Japan. Among his numerous commis­ sions are a 24-foot terrazzo sculpture for the Honolulu International Airport, a 24- x 28-foot aluminum ceiling for the Hayashida Onsen Hotel (Kago­ shima), a 32-foot brass and mahogany sculpture for the Hilton Hawaiian Village Hotel, Honolulu, and three ) exterior sculptures for Hilo Hospital. Sato's works are in many collections . including the State of Hawaii, Honolulu Academy of Arts, University of Hawaii, University of Colorado, and the James A. Michener Collection.
