2019 Dublin High School Field Show Invitational Director’s Packet Dublin High School 8151 Village Parkway, Dublin, CA 94568 Event Schedules are available at https://westernbands.org/ WELCOME: On behalf of the Dublin High School Music Boosters, thank you for adding our competition to your field show season schedule. We are filled with anticipation and excitement and are so pleased you will attend! ADMISSION: Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for students and senior citizens, free for children 6 and under. SPECTATOR PARKING: There is no onsite spectator parking this year due to increased school participation and construction on campus. Parking is plentiful in the neighborhoods around our campus. Exceptions will be made for those with a Handicap placard, in the parking lot off Brighton Dr. CONCESSIONS: There will an assortment of great food, drinks, and snacks for participants and spectators. NO GRILLS OR OPEN FIRES ARE ALLOWED ON CAMPUS, STADIUM OR PARKING LOTS. This is a fundraising event and we encourage all participants to support our event by purchasing food at the concession stands and vendors in the stadium. Cash and credit cards will be accepted. AIRGRAMS: We will also be offering Shout Outs for $2. PROGRAMS: Programs will be available for $5 at the Stadium. HEALTH & SAFETY: Please make sure your parent chaperones and student leaders are aware of the location of our first aid station. First aid will be located in the Sports Complex Lobby to the left of the Stadium Main Gate entrance. See attached map. Updated 10.04.2019 RESTROOMS: Restrooms are located around campus and in the Stadium. They are all clearly marked. BUS/EQUIPMENT TRUCK PARKING: Check‐In is in front of the Center for Performing Arts, 8151 Village Parkway. Please try to have trucks and busses arrive together. Space is limited. Please present WBA Membership Badge/credentials (on a lanyard,) which WBA mailed to the Directors in a large envelope. ARRIVAL/WRISTBANDS: Wristbands are provided by the host for performers to access the stadium after their performance and will be given to you in your check‐in packet upon arrival. Any chaperones that wish to watch on the home side will be asked to purchase a spectator wristband from the ticket booth. Directors, Staff, Media, and Pit Crew/Chaperones will need to use their official WBA Credential for admission to the stadium. MUSIC WARM UP AREAS: There are designated warm-up areas that can be found in green on the attached map of our school. Please stay away from the stadium, out of courtesy to the other performing ensembles and judges. Percussion, please stay away from quiet zones as far as possible and point your instruments away from the stadium. Use of electronic metronomes has been a problem in the past. Please refrain from their use entirely while warming up, OR keep their volume as low as possible. You will be asked to silence them entirely if their sound is disruptive to the competition. PERCUSSION EQUIPMENT/PROPS: Please make sure you have adequate staff and means to assist the moving of your percussion equipment and props to and from the performance area. Motorized vehicles are NOT allowed on the field turf at any time. STAGING: See the map attached. PERFORMER SEATING: All performing students and pit crew/chaperones will be sitting in the visitor stands. Please do not approach the Spectator side of the field. STAFF VIEWING & SOUND MIXING AREA: Staff can view the performances anywhere in the spectator stands. Best location for video recording will be on either side of the announcer booth, top of the stadium. WBA ADJUDICATORS & EVENT STAFF: Our parking attendants will lead you to your spot. Updated 10.04.2019 CRITIQUE: Critique will not be available at this event. ADJUDICATION COMMENTS: The WBA uses Competition Suite, please make sure you have access before you arrive to the event. AWARDS CEREMONY: The awards ceremonies will be separated by Class. 1A-3A is at 5:04pm. 4A-5A is at 9:29pm. Please send your student leadership to the track 50-yard line. Please refer to the schedule online for the exact timing. FIELD & HASH MARKS: This is a high school football field with high school hash marks only. It is artificial turf. HOSPITALITY: The Director’s Lounge will be located in the Teacher’s Lounge, Building H, and will be open from 12:00-8:00pm. Please see attached invitation. Only Staff with a WBA Membership Badge will be admitted to this area. See attached map. PHOTOGRAPHY & VIDEO: Still cameras (digital or film, professional or otherwise) are allowed into the stadium and may be used from stadium seating. Tripods or other similar equipment that may obstruct the view or path of travel of others in seating areas are not allowed. Any liability associated with unauthorized recordings will rest with the individual or organization making the recording. WBA does not condone, nor accept any liability for, any unauthorized recording during the event.
