The availability of Broadband and Cloud Services has transformed much of what we do, and it has changed what nonprofits expect from us. As we close the book on the NPower Pennsylvania brand, we look back on the last ten years with tremendous pride. Moving forward, our vision is to increase those impacts exponentially. WE HAVE UNLEASHED THE SUPPORT OF OVER 1,000 VOLUNTEERS. • Some of Our Services Are Going Global: npCloud.org is our suite of services that helps nonprofits gain access to cloud-based technology. • We Are Partnering With Industry Leaders: We’ve begun deep partnerships that bring exclusive benefits to nonprofits - unfettered access to free and discounted 1,500 cloud services, free software, and more. WE HAVE DONATED OVER 1,500 GENTLY USED PCS TO NONPROFITS. • We’re Launching New Apps: VolunteerConnect is our new volunteer management database. There are more apps to come. • ITWorks is Expanding: Our IT training program for young adults is gaining national recognition. Based on the best practices of multiple Habitat for Humanity chapters, VolunteerConnect enables nonprofits’ volunteers to register and schedule activities on their own time. It also provides the nonprofit with a way to track a volunteer’s activity and create detailed reports. Nonprofits can use the system to communicate with supporters, match them with additional activities, and identify good targets for potential financial donors. And it’s all online in a user-friendly web-based system. TECH IMPACT ANNUAL REPORT 2012-2013 | 5 TECH IMPACT PROGRAMS ITWorks ITWorks is Tech Impact’s award-winning technology training program for urban young adults. This program, which is free for them to participate in, prepares them for an entry-level IT job and provides them with a pathway to a career in technology. ITWorks also has a secondary benefit: it provides nonprofits with an affordable skilled workforce to address the technological challenges they face. Over 16 weeks, ITWorks students earn one or more industry-standard certifications, receive weekly professional skills training, and are placed into 5-week technology-related internships. Tech Impact’s unique relationship with regional corporations, and nonprofits, provides students with a unique experience that will change their income potential for life.
