SURJO KUMAR CHAKRABORTY ✓ He was the first Indian to pass the exam of the INDIAN MEDICAL SERVICE in 1855 ✓ Subsequently he became the professor of MATERIA MEDICA at Calcutta Medical College in the half of nineteenth century ✓ He became the president of Bengal Branch of British Medical Association ✓ He published THE LANCET, the British medical journal and the Indian medical Gazette S I PADMAVATHI ❖ Sivaramakrishna Iyer Padmavathi was an INDIAN CARDIOLOGIST ❖ She was the director of National Heart institute Delhi ❖ She was the first WOMAN CARDIOLOGIST in India and established the first CARDIAC CLINIC and CATHETER LAB in India ❖ She was awarded India’s second highest civilian honor, THE PADMA VIBHUSHAN in 1992 VIJAYALAKSHMI RAMANAN ➢ The first IAF officer and also a DOCTOR ➢ Vijayalakshmi did MBBS from the MMC ➢ She was awarded the BALFOUR memorial medal For medicine ➢ Prize for SURGERY by the MADRAS university ➢ She was the first woman to wear SAREE as UNIFORM ➢ She also designed the UNIFORM THANK YOU JAI HIND.
