In their last meeting, St. Cloud defeated the Knights 5-1 in the opening round of the Icebreaker Invitational held in Orono, ME on October 12, 2001. Clarkson won the first game in the series, knocking off the Huskies 5-4 in Potsdam on October 24, 1987. The Knights also split a weekend series in St. Cloud on November 4-5, 1998, winning the first game 5-2 before losing the second game 6-2.
