She was bred by Sir John Barker, who died on 16th December, 1914. The sale of stock, by his Executors, took place on 16th April, 1915, at The Grange, Bishop's Stortford Hertfordshire, and was conducted by Tattersalls. Meath “Baron Birdcatcher was not in the stud book, as his dam Lady Longford was not all together thoroughbred. I remember my father saying that he saw Lady Longford race in Trim about 1850 or 1852. She was owned by a farmer names Thomas Russell, of Friar’s Park, Trim, he is dead and all his family are dead. Lady Longford won the race, and was sold after it to a gentleman in Dublin.
