Amongst the vast landscape, the college possesses top quality sporting facilities, from 3G football pitches to a golf training centre and an off- road driving track. It is a closed rural college campus with high security. There is CCTV on campus, the buildings have keys to access the houses and there is an on-site duty officer. There are a total of 108 beds in 3 separate houses. In each house there is a common room and at least 1 kitchen that can be accessed. On campus there are grass areas where students can take part in sports and activities. Population- 1,301 It is approx. a 20 minutes’ drive to the city of Preston. Myerscough College is located very close to some of the north of England’s greatest tourist destinations. Just 40 minutes to the north of Myerscough College, you can find the stunning Lake District national park and just one hour to the south are the bustling cities of Manchester and Liverpool. Admission is free however, full tours can be arranged for a small fee. Plant World is situated at Myerscough College and is open Monday to Friday 9.30am-5pm and the weekend 10am- 4.30pm. Address: Garstang Road, Bilsborrow, Preston, Lancashire, PR3 0RE Walking distance from Myerscough: 0.9 miles (16 minutes’ walk) ACCOMMODATION Description- The college has 3 residential houses with single and twin rooms offering en- suite and shared shower and toilet facilities. Each house has its own common room and a kitchen The houses are Wenning, A.N.Other and Irwell. Wenning has a total of 40 beds made up of 20 twin rooms. There are shared shower and toilet facilities making a bathroom ratio of 1:5. There is a common room and a kitchen in this house. A.N.Other has a total of 38 beds made up of 19 twin rooms. There are shared shower and toilet facilities making a bathroom ratio of 1:5. There is a common room and a kitchen in this house. Irwell has a total of 30 beds made up of 30 en suite rooms which makes a bathroom ratio of 1:1. There are up to 6 kitchens and the use of common rooms in these areas. All bedding is provided but students need to bring their own towels. Room Allocation- We divide the students up according to their age, sex and group. We take into consideration any specific requests, i.e. friends who want to share. Group leaders will stay in the same house as their students. Room allocation is normally done on arrival. If you would like any further information on this, please contact us. HOUSEKEEPING Bedding is changed once a week. Bedrooms, bathrooms and facilities are cleaned 5 times a week. There are washing machine and tumble dry facilities located in the student village that are coin operated. It costs £2.50 per wash and students must provide their own washing powder. Deposits- We will ask each student for a deposit of €25/£25 on arrival. We will check their rooms before they arrive and before they leave, and return the money if everything is in order. If there is damage to the houses and nobody owns up, we will ask everyone in the house to share the cost. The Centre manager will have access to a safe if it is required. P a g e 6 | 15 Key Loss- If any key or key card is lost during the stay, there will be a £75 fee for a replacement. MEALS When the students are on campus they will eat their meals in the dining hall on site. When they are out on excursions, they will be provided with packed lunches. There is the option of having a cooked breakfast 5 days a week. Meal times- Breakfast: 8:00 until 8:45 Morning Break: 10:30 until 11:00 Lunch: 12:30 until 13:30 Dinner: 18:00 until 18:30 If we are aware in advance, we can advise the catering staff of any dietary requirements and the canteen staff can cater to these.
