N. Medical College, Aligarh M. University, Aligarh (INDIA). Topics covered in the lecture course included chemistry and metabolism of carbohydrates, lipids, proteins and nucleic acids, membrane structure and transport across membranes. The lab. course involved qualitative tests on carbohydrates and lipids and quantitative determinations of biologically important compounds such as glucose, urea, uric acid, creatinin, cholesterol, bilirubin etc. EXPERIENCE AS RESEARCH MENTOR: 2009-2012: Guided eight undergraduate research students in the Chemistry Department at IPFW 2006-2009: Guided three undergraduate research students at Xavier University of Louisiana. 1994- 2005 While working in various research capacities at Purdue University, I guided several undergraduate students in their research. These students were registered with Professor Michael Laskowski Jr. at Purdue who gave me the responsibility for their day to day guidance. 1981-1994: Successfully guided six Ph. D. students to their graduate degrees. Several research papers were published during this time in peer reviewed journals. They are listed in “list of publications” below. Many of my graduate students are serving as faculty in academic institutions in different countries such as Malasia, Saudi Arabia, and United States. RESEARCH FUNDING: 2009-2011: Submitted following research proposals in the year 2009, 2010, and 2011. All of them were accepted for funding. (i) IPFW Faculty summer research grant, December 2009. (ii) Senior Research grant of Indiana Academy of Science, October 2010. (iii) IPFW Faculty summer research grant, December 2010. 2006-2009: Submitted two research grant applications to Center for Undergraduate Research (CUR) at Xavier. Both of these applications were accepted for funding – one in March 2007 and the other in October 2008. 1981-1994: As independent researcher in India I applied for three major research grants to central granting agencies such as Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), and Department of Science and Technology (DST). All of these grant applications were approved for funding.
