We celebrate all of our ex presidents. As we all know February is the shortest month of the year. This year will be the first time since 1999 that the month will pass without a single full moon. That was for those who even care. I was not able to attend the January luncheon, but from all re- ports the speaker was excellent, and the attendance was outstand- ing. Let’s keep up the good work. Again if any of our members have any recommendations for new events or activities for the Sirs group please bring them to the attention of any of the board mem- bers. Also if you have a friend who you feel would be an asset to the group please invite them to a luncheon. Golf will starting again soon, I' am looking forward to getting back on the course with the merry little group of golfers in our or- ganization. Jim, Steve, and Mike are diligently working on new ac- tivities which will be announced soon. Don’t forget the Surf and Turf dinner is March 15, hope to see everyone there, it was a lot of fun last year. If our plane does not go down on the way home I' am looking forward to see “all” your smiling faces on February 6. Until then enjoy the last few days of January. Chuck Krogh Big Sir 2 LTTLE SIR REPORT Tony Broadbent was an art student in London in the late Sixties. He then worked as copywriter and crea- tive director at some of the best advertising agencies in London, New York, and San Francisco, before opening his own agency. ... Tony is married and lives in Mill Valley, California. Mike Dean 3 The SIRndader’s MIKE SCAFANI JERRY HAYDEN The SIRenaders started off the new year by singing at Senior Access, which is on Skyview Terrace in San Rafael. Senior Access is a Day Care center for seniors. We usually have a small group that shows up to hears us sing. It is usually about 12 people. Still I can honestly say that they really enjoy our program. We next are scheduled to sing at Novato Health Center in Novato. It's located on Hill Rd. There is always a group of twenty-five or so who come into the rec room to hear us sing. On the 19 of January we are back in Novato and singing at Deer Park Retirement Center. This is located on Canyon Rd. This place is probably the most upscale facility we sing in, you should see the gor- geous piano they have. The following week we sing at Lifelong Living Center at 1905 Novato Blvd. This place is also a day care center, but here we usually have between 25 and 30 seniors who come to enjoy our mu- sic. And that takes care of the month of January. Mike Scafani, Chairman Jerry Hayden, Asst. Please check out the travel page on the SIR web site trips sponsored by other branches. 9 FOR FUN A group of 12 women were at a seminar on how to live in a loving relationship with their hus- bands. The women were asked, "How many of you love your husband?" All the women raised their hands. Then they were asked, "When was the last time you told your husband you loved him?" Some women answered today, a few yesterday, and some couldn't remember. The women were then told to take out their cellphones and text their husband "I love you, sweet- heart." Next the women were instructed to exchange phones with another woman and read aloud the text message they received in response to their message. Below are 12 actual replies from their husbands. If you have been married for quite a while, you understand that these replies are a sign of true love. Who else would reply in such a succinct and honest way? 1. Who the hell is this? 2. Hey, mother of my children, are you sick or what? 3. Yeah, and I love you too. What's wrong? 4. What now? Did you wreck the car again? 5. I don't understand what you mean? 6. What the hell did you do now? 7. Are you sure this is for me? 8. Don't beat about the bush, just tell me how much you need? 9. Am I dreaming? 10. If you don't tell me who this message is actually for, someone will die. 11. I thought we agreed you wouldn't drink during the day. 12. Your mother is coming to stay with us, isn't she? 10 11 GOLFERS CORNER Ready for the new year? Hope so. Last year we lost a few of our good friends and Golfers. Notably Art Ross, Don Gotelli, Bill Bevin, John Murphy and Don Vaughn. Let us hope for a Happy and Healthy New Year with a lot of good golf with good friends. Not much to report until we get started in February.
