Waterfront Toronto's Survey About Quayside - October 2020 Q1 Below are three project goals for Quayside: inclusive, resilient and dynamic. Please let us know the extent to which you support each of the following statements:Inclusive: For too many Torontonians, the city is becoming an unaffordable place to live and increasingly difficult to navigate. It is important for neighbourhoods to be inviting to people of all ages, sex, race, class, income, religion, ethnicity, ability, language, sexual orientation, or gender identity. However the starting point should be to provide the 10/21/2020 12:49 PM necessary supports so that seniors can truly age in place or perhaps downsize to a smaller home if they no longer want or need multiple bedrooms. Transfer to an institution such as a long-term care home should be seen as absolutely the last resort. As a senior myself I have absolutely no interest in living in a place that is exclusively populated by other seniors. 11 High-order transit with excellent system connectivity 10/21/2020 8:25 AM 12 social housing and minimum amount of narrow car artery roads, minimum car parking, many 10/20/2020 9:20 PM bike parking options, all of car roads with wide protected bike lanes - besides this small amount of narrow car arteries with protected bike lanes - streets only for pedestrians and city services. 13 The water is our birthright and should be Open to all and not overbuilt 10/20/2020 7:53 PM 14 Built in accessibility for people with all types of disabilities, public washrooms, cycling 10/20/2020 5:53 PM infrastructure 15 Simple, affordable, live/work studio space for artists 10/20/2020 12:45 AM 16 Schools of all levels 10/19/2020 8:42 PM 17 Wheelchair access to outdoor spaces 10/19/2020 4:35 PM 18 We need to use our Lake much more efficiently. Lots of fast food pizza shops spewing greasy exhaust, nail salons, spas and sports bars. Try and find a hardware store, print framing shop or bike shop or private gallery. Are the 6 / 100 Waterfront Toronto's Survey About Quayside - October 2020 commercial spaces too big? or expensive? Can developers not be encouraged to curate for more useful/interesting/relevant tenants? This is something Waterfront Toronto can and should address. I would tick other boxes but for me civic spaces like community services like close access to schools and libraries and relevant commercial services are vital. 31 No longer building lower density, normalizing medium and high density throughout, looking to 10/16/2020 10:19 AM places like Barcelona and Brooklyn as examples. 32 great architecture and design 10/16/2020 7:06 AM 33 Safety........ e.g. the side walk width should allow for several people to distance themselves 10/15/2020 9:22 PM (as now required in COVID endemic times) and contrary to the north side of Queens Quay new developments that are being built right out to the 2 person wide sidewalks. We must learn from this viral threat! 34 outdoors workout space 10/15/2020 11:18 AM 35 Affordable housing, cultural amenities, friendly public spaces, & Sidewalk Toronto's proposals 10/14/2020 9:52 PM (most of them were great) 36 quiet for current condominium owners and residents to enjoy the neighbourhood 10/14/2020 7:32 PM 37 Will there be spaces for churches? 10/14/2020 4:25 PM 38 all of the above are important 10/14/2020 1:01 PM 39 transport connectivity to other parts of city, suhc as TTC streetcar light rail to Union Station 10/14/2020 12:55 PM 40 Public Art & Creativity 10/13/2020 5:16 PM 41 Communal governance and local democracy 10/13/2020 4:22 PM 42 LRT connecting with other downtown areas 10/13/2020 2:43 PM 43 Arts and Culture - A thriving creative community brings people together 10/13/2020 2:04 PM 44 Maximize natural environments 10/13/2020 12:22 PM 45 recreational amenities. food/entertainment amenities 10/13/2020 12:03 PM 7 / 100 Waterfront Toronto's Survey About Quayside - October 2020 Q5 Which of the following are important to you in a resilient and sustainable community?
