This can be viewed on the APPG for SEND website: www.naht.org.uk/appgsend. NAHT was reappointed as secretariat for the group for 2021-22. Speaker: Minister for Children and Families, Vicky Ford MP The group were pleased to welcome Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Vicky Ford MP, as the Minister with responsibility for SEND. The Minister spoke about work done by the government over the past year to support young people with SEND and their families. She referenced the APPG’s report which was presented at this meeting. This was followed by questions from members of the group. Presentation: APPG for SEND’s Report Spring 2021 Rob Kelsall, NAHT National Secretary and Secretariat for the group, presented the APPG’s Spring 2021 report entitled “Forgotten. Left-behind. Overlooked. The experiences of young people with SEND and their educational transitions during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020”. The report is available to read on the APPG for SEND website: www.naht.org.uk/appgsend. This was followed by comments from members of the group. Speakers: Carly Blake (she/her), a young person with Cerebral Palsy and Learning difficulties Jimmy Langton (he/him), a young person with Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy Carly and Jimmy returned to speak to the APPG for SEND following their contributions during an oral evidence session in October.
