If you request Premium seats, you will be responsible for additional charges up to $215. Should the surcharge be above $215, you will be contacted by the trip coordinator to approve the charge before your tickets are purchased. • If you wish to purchase tickets to additional shows through our trip coordinator, the cost of each tickets will be $215. If you opted for Premium seating, the premium surcharge will be added to the ticket price. Program Cost • $2490 per person if attending Tony Awards ® viewing party (which includes a $500 donation to the Tennessee Theatre) o Single occupancy will incur a $550 surcharge o A deposit of $1250 per person is required upon registration o Balance will be due May 4 • $2985 per person if attending Tony Awards ® ceremony (which includes a $500 donation to the Tennessee Theatre) o Single occupancy will incur a $550 surcharge o A deposit of $1250 per person is required upon registration o Balance will be due May 4 • Cost per person is subject to change depending on the number of participants. Trip Host/Coordinator • Joseph Rosenberg, PhD, Founder and President of VIP Tours of New York, Architecture and Theatre Historian, lecturer, and NYC licensed tour guide o Joe was in large part responsible for the landmark designations of 36 Broadway Theatres, including New Amsterdam on 42nd Street. o Joe co-founded “The Showpeople’s Committee to Save Radio City Music Hall” saving it from demolition o Joe is the recipient of the League of Historic American Theatres’ Lifetime Achievement Award for his contributions to the US theatre preservation movement o Joe is a co-founder and former chairman of the New York City Historic Districts Council TRIP ITINERARY Friday, June 8 – Monday, June 11 3 Nights at the Millennium Broadway, a popular, contemporary Art Deco hotel located in the heart of the Theatre District (with complimentary basic Wi Fi access) Friday June 8: • New York arrival, transfer to the hotel on your own • 8pm: Broadway show of your choice • Post-show dinner, with unlimited house wine, beer, and soft drinks, in the private room of a fine Theatre District restaurant with 2 Broadway guests of honor Saturday June 9: • 11am: Private visit to Radio City Music Hall and home of the Tony Awards® • 12:30pm: Lunch on your own • 2pm: Exploration of Rockefeller Center, led by the co-founder of the 1979 Show People’s Committee to Save Radio City Music Hall (from demolition) • 3pm: A private discussion and presentation with former captain of the Radio City Music Hall Singers and former captain of the Radio City Music Hall Corps de Ballet o These two are co-authors of “Saving Radio City Music Hall: A Dancer’s True Story” and each guest will be given an autographed copy • 5pm: Return to hotel • 8pm: Broadway show of your choice Sunday June 10: • 9am: A walking exploration of the renaissance of 42nd Street • 9:30am: The doors of Broadway’s most beautiful theatre – one of the finest Art Nouveau theatres in the world – will be open just for us. This theatre is the current home of Disney’s ALADDIN and the theatre where THE LION KING was created. o As we look at the theatre’s splendor, the person in large part responsible for saving this theatre from demolition will describe the theatre’s history, secrets, and tell its ghost stories • 10:30am: A walking exploration of the lights, excitement, history and theatres of the Times Square Theatre District, led by the person in large part responsible for the NYC Landmark designation of 35 Broadway Theatres and for the zoning regulations which resulted in Times Square’s plethora of electric advertising signs • 11am: In a Broadway rehearsal studio, enjoy a performance and discussion with 3 current Broadway cast members. It is the country’s premiere decorative arts companies, whose projects have included the Empire State Building, Rockefeller Center, Radio City Music Hall, the New Amsterdam and many Broadway theatres, historic theatres/churches/capitol buildings throughout the U.S. o If he is in New York, our visit will be hosted by the company’s owner. • 12 Noon: Depart to the airport. o If you book a flight departing LGA after 2:30 PM, you will be transferred to LGA by our coach, arriving at 1pm. (included) o If you book a flight departing Newark after 3 PM, or JFK after 3:30 PM, you will be responsible for transportation to airport on your own, or car service can be arranged for you for an additional fee.
