DANGER: Never place hands, body parts, clothing, hair or any foreign object in the machine while it is operating. Failure to do so can result in bodily harm, or damage to the machine. WARNING: Disconnect all power before performing maintenance to avoid risk of serious electric shock and mechanical hazards. WARNING: Always check with your local health department regarding procedures required to ensure proper cleaning and sanitation in order to avoid serious food borne illness to consumers. For the US: FDA.gov/food. WARNING: Discontinue use immediately and have machine serviced if any components are damaged or malfunctioning to avoid risk of personal injury and damage to the machine. WARNING: Never tamper with or override any of the safety features of the machine, including the Hopper Door. Tampering with safety features can result in unsafe operating conditions and can result in harm to the operator. WARNING: Be aware of all pinch points and moving parts, and take precautions to keep loose clothing, hair, or foreign objects away from them to avoid personal injury and damage to the machine. CAUTION: Only place machine on a sturdy counter, table, or cart with locked casters. GOODNATURE M-1 OWNER’S MANUAL 04 SETUP & OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 28 Section 2: Unpacking PREASSEMBLY STEPS 1 Inspect the shipping container of your new M-1 prior to opening. Ensure it is free of any handling damage that may have occurred during shipping. Notify the shipping carrier of any damage to the shipping container as soon as it is received. 2 Release the four plastic clips from the base of the shipping container by pinching the sides together and pulling out. Clip 3 Lift the outer box directly up. 4 Remove the top box. 5 Remove the storyboard box. 6 Unfasten the Velcro® strap that is over the machine. 7 Remove the FreshFilter® Press Bags, Toolkit, and any other loose items. 8 Lift machine away from the shipping container base and onto the counter, table, or cart where it is intended to be used. Machine should be lifted by a minimum of two people. One person can lift from underneath the front two feet, and one person can lift from the rear two feet. 9 We recommend cleaning all parts that will be in contact with food prior to its first use. The cleaning procedure is located in section 7 of this manual. 10 Prior to applying any electrical power to the equipment, complete all of the setup steps outlined in Section 4. 11 Review the enclosed parts list on the following page. Inspect all enclosed parts carefully and make sure that there are no parts missing. If any parts are missing or damaged please contact Goodnature. CAUTION: Only press produce that has been shredded. Never attempt to press unshredded produce, pits, or large seeds, as doing so can put uneven loading on the machine and cause damage. These buttons are GRIND, PRESS and STOP. There are six lights on the button panel: Drop Three functional lights next to each button that will illuminate during operation. Drop Three safety indicator lights at the bottom of the Button Panel. 1 Hopper Door is closed and the“Hopper Door Safety” is engaged. 2 Grinder is lowered into the DOWN position and the “Grinder Safety” is engaged. 3 Press Kit is properly installed and the “Chamber Safety” is engaged. GOODNATURE M-1 OWNER’S MANUAL 14 SETUP & OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS 28 Section 6: Operation GRIND Drop Pressing GRIND will start the grind cycle. Drop Press the GRIND button a second time to stop the grind cycle. Alternatively, the STOP button can be pressed to stop the grinder. Drop When the Hopper Door is opened to add produce during the cycle, the grinder will come to a stop automatically and the GRIND light will flash. The grind cycle will restart automatically once the door is closed. • If the hopper door is open for more than 45 seconds or the Grinder runs without interruption, the grind cycle will cancel and the light will no longer be illuminated. • Use the GRIND button to stop the grinder before opening Hopper Door when the Hopper is full. Drop A solid illuminated GRIND light means that the Grinder Blade is spinning. PRESS Drop Pushing the PRESS button starts the pressing cycle. It is intended for making a single serving of juice, 1 - 2.5 lb of produce, depending on the recipe. Drop The pressing cycle will take roughly 90 seconds. At the end of the press cycle, the press will automatically relieve pressure and the press rod will retract into the machine. Drop To cancel a press cycle use the PRESS or STOP buttons. This will start a retract of the press rod and cancel the current press cycle. STOP Drop Pressing the STOP button while the grinder is running will turn off the grinder. Drop Pressing the STOP button once during any press cycle or while the machine is idle and powered on will relieve any pressure and retract the press rod.
