This conference was organized by the Beijing International Center for Theoretical and Applied Mechanics, the Institute of Mechanics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and the Beijing University of Technology. Research on microfluidics, nanofluidics and lab-on-a-chip has advanced rapidly over the past two decades. It has become a cutting-edge subject and has great application potential in biochemistry, human health, new energy, advanced materials, and so forth. It has produced direct and significant impact on various fields in science and engineering. This conference is intended to provide a highly interactive forum to bring together scientists and engineers around the world with the aim of exchanging knowledge of the state-of-art research and development in this field, and to inspire new efforts to advance the frontier of the research. As the conference chairs, we would like to express our deepest gratitude to all committee members, track and session chairs, and student assistants, who have contributed greatly to the success of this conference — it would not have been possible without the input of your time and effort. We would also like to send our great appreciation to all plenary speakers and contributors, whose high-quality work, careful analysis, and tremendous insight will make this conference a successful and memorable event. Welcome to ICMFLOC 2018. We hope you have a great time in Beijing!
