/()·-I 1!/Js- RESOL Whereas, with 38 Top 40 hits, selling over 45 million records ru1d starring in over 12 Hollywood movies, Pat Boone is not only an performer a11d a11 entertainer, he is a11 America11 icon; and Whereas, born in Jacksonville, Florida in 1934 and raised in Nashville Tennessee, Pat Boone bega11 recording in 1954 for Republic Records a11d made his first hit covering Fats Domino's "Ain't That A Shrune" in 1955; and Whereas, in his rising success, Pat Boone hosted his own network television show, The Pat Boone Chevy Show, authored numerous books including his number one best-selling book, Twixt Twelve and Twenty and becrune a Rock a11d Roll legend by covering R&B hits like "Tutti Frutti", "Long Tall Sally" originated by Little Richard a11d "I Almost Lost My Mind" by Ivory Jones Hunter; and Whereas, after his accomplishments in Rock ru1d Roll, Pat Boone made his mark in Gospel music touring with his frunily, promoting their albums; The Pat Boone Family and The Family That Prays and founding the record label Lion & Lrunb Records; a11d Whereas, Pat Boone became so popular Hollywood crune knocking, offering him his first big screen role in the musical "Bernadine;" a11d Whereas, after his success with "Bernadine" his teen idol status was cemented.
