Families 2020/21 _____________________________________________________________________________ 1.0 Joining Largs Bay Sailing Club (LBSC) 1.1 Welcome! Welcome to LBSC! We are delighted you have decided to try sailing and join us at the LBSC. We hope this handbook helps you to navigate your way around, particularly if you are a family who is completely new to sailing. Please familiarise yourself with the LBSC website which has lots more information https://www.largsbaysailingclub.org.au/home/ 1.2 Paperwork Firstly, we need you to complete the relevant paperwork which is available from the sign in desk: • Club Registration • Medical Forms • Payment – club fees + training program fees if applicable. When you register your child at a sailing club they will receive an Australian Sailing (AS) Number. Your child will need this number if they compete in an event or regatta. 1.3 New Participants LBSC offer a free 2-week introductory program which enables kids to try out the program before committing to membership. If you know another child who may enjoy learning to sail, please let us know so we can arrange an introductory session. 1.4 Fees When you register with the Club you are required to pay annual club registration fees which is in addition to junior training fees (note, training is heavily subsidised by membership fees). There are a range of membership options for you and your family to consider, from single child membership to membership for the whole family. The membership forms are located on the LBSC website https://www.largsbaysailingclub.org.au/registration/ 1 Handbook for New Junior Sailing Families 2020/21 _____________________________________________________________________________ Club membership and Australian Sailing affiliation covers the child and family for liability insurance and some personal injury insurance. http://www.networksteadfast.com.au/industries-and- associations/sailing/personal-injury-australian-sailing-members-insurance/ School sports vouchers can be used at LBSC and the voucher needs to be presented at the time of payment. If paying online, you can use the discount code “SportsVoucher” and it will reduce the membership by $100 and then you can do an EFT or pay by credit card. The sports voucher form will need to be completed and returned via email. Please contact the clubs Treasurer (Andrew Doyle - [email protected].) if you need assistance. 1.5 Parent Participation At LBSC we welcome and encourage parents to be involved in your child’s activities. In particular, assistance with preparing, launching, retrieving and pack up
