Classrooms Enjoy our modern classes! Please look after the furniture and equipment like you do at home! 2. Bathrooms FLUSH used toilet paper; put Sanitary items in the bins provided. 3. Kitchen DO NOT put foil/metal in the microwave. 4. Student Area DO NOT leave your belongings unattended. 5. Computer Lab: DO NOT eat or drink in the lab. (Please note: Computer lab may not always be available. You must bring in your own laptop/Tablet to access digital material.) Health and Safety 1. Two Emergency Exits: Evacuate in a calm manner following the fire warden (wearing a red cap). Leave possessions behind! Your life is more important! 2. First Aid : When you require assistance, ALWAYS approach one of the staff members. 3. Any incident (fight, theft, fire, accident, etc.) must be reported. Request a form from one of the Student Support Officers or speak to the receptionist. 4 8/8/2019 4. Emergency: follow the instructions. 1. DO NOT panic. 2. Listen carefully. 3. Stay with people. 4. Donotrun. 5. Wait for the warden/follow your teacher. If you are alone, CALL 000 (Police, Fire, Ambulance) 5. Medical Emergency – call 000 1. Routine visits – General Practitioner (GP) 2. Ask student support to help you find the nearest GP 3. ALWAYS have your BUPA Security 1. Do Not Leave Your Possessions Unattended. We provide: Internal counselling by request Internal academic counselling Officers to assist you with different enquiries Referral to an external counsellor (Fees may apply) Administration 1. Policies and Procedures: See Website, Student Handbook 2. Payments and Refunds: Payment Plans available (approach Student Services). All payments are to be completed BY THE DUE DATE . Payment options: CASH, EFTPOS, BANK TRANSFER. Refund conditions depend on individual circumstances (approach Student Services). 3. Complaints and Feedback FIRST – COMMUNICATE with the TEACHER. Then – Student Services (Reception Level 2) . If you further queries, feel free to have a chat with our campus manager. Complaints Form is to be provided by the Student Services by request. The form is to be provided to the ELICOS/VET/NAATI Coordinator. If the issue is not resolved, it is to be escalated to higher management. Student Feedback is collectedon a regular basis. Classes are monitored and observed by Coordinators to ensure quality education and continuous improvement. 7 8/8/2019 Student Card A Student Card is your Australian ID. Student Cards are issued by Student Services on the first day of the course. Student Cards give students access to special offers, memberships and discounts. ALWAYS have your Student Card on you. Lost, stolen or damaged Student Card? Approach Student Services IMMEDIATELY ! Record Keeping and Accessing Records 1. Assessment results can be provided by request (approach Student Services) 2. Assessment results are STRICTLYconfidential : no results for a friend. 3. Assessment submissions, payments, requests for student card, must be completed in person by the student and not their authorised representative. 4. Students receive CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION after completing the course . 5. Certificates ARE NOT issued in the middle of the course. 8 8/8/2019 Financial Difficulty As an international student you have to pay your fees ON TIME . If you are facing financial difficulties, please speak to a Student Support Officer or ask for a meeting with the CEO This Is Australia! Your needs, rights and responsibilities 9 8/8/2019 Student Code of Conduct Students must follow the Student Code of Conduct established by Albright Institute: • Albright Institute is a drug, alcohol, and smoke free zone. All students are prohibited from possession or consumption of all kinds of alcoholic drinks and illegal drugs at all times when on campus • Students are expected to accept responsibility for the safety of themselves and other students at all times • Neat, comfortable clothing is generally considered appropriate. Maintenance of personal hygiene is required • Students are expected to be environmentally responsible by respecting Albright’s facilities and resources • Albright students are required to be academically compliant with all their course and visa requirements, including maintaining satisfactory course progress and attendance • Bullying, harassment, vulgar language, verbal and physical abuse, disrespectful and inappropriate behavior will not be tolerated For more information, please refer to Albright’s Student Handbook Student Visa Requirements 1. 20 hours of study per week.
