Today we are collecting and donating for a local cause very dear to our hearts - the RNLI Penlee Lifeboat Station Appeal - and hope it will help them towards their target. RNLI reps in- cluding crew members will be here today, so do take the opportunity to have a chat with them, and most importantly give them a donation - every little bit helps (but so do big bits!). Penzance have recovered somewhat since their low point at Christmas, and it looks as though it’s now in their own hands to get to a position of safety (more on page 17). However, they can’t expect any sympathy or charity from us on the field today! Next season could be interesting if Penzance escape the drop and Ludgvan come up - some excellent local derbies, but also competition for players, I guess. As Steve says on page 5, we’ve become the ‘draw specialists’, with 7 in the last 12 league matches. Most of those games could have gone either way, so credit is due to the rebuilt squad for getting a point (and maybe turn draws into wins in the last part of the season?). At present we’re 7th in the table - which com- pares well, in the circumstances, with the 5th position at the start of January - but with all clubs having played a different number of games, we could finish the season there, or slightly higher, or even lower. On to other matters: THIS SEASON’S WEST DIVISION CLUBS Commiserations to Josh Otto for losing narrowly in the Cornwall team in the national youth cup final two Grounds, postcodes & distances (from Trungle Parc) weeks ago.
